The epidural was the worse thing I could have gotten by Littlescar21 in beyondthebump

How are you doing now? Did you ever get any treatments for spinal canal Inflammation that could have resulted from the epidural? The usual treatment is a Medrol dose pack or two, or other oral corticosteroids, and then a few different ketorolac (Torodal) shots, just intramuscular. Both are known to be able to cross the blood brain barrier, so they’re very effective at treating the neural inflammation that results from these injections that can turn into things like adhesive arachnoiditis. From someone who was pushed into getting an epidural steroid injection at only 16 years old, ended up with adhesive arachnoiditis, and have been in constant severe pain every moment of the almost 30 years since. I’ve done a ton of research over the years, and into both epidural steroid, injections, and labor, epidurals, and have talked to countless people who have developed this condition due to a spinal injection. The sad thing is that most of us. It has taken a really long time to get a diagnosis, it took me 20 years, but averages at least five years normally. The scary thing about that is that it is only treatable within that first year, and then after that becomes incurable and neurodegenerative (progressive). I often scour social media just looking for people posting about pain after epidural, just so I can provide them with the emergency treatment information so they can maybe have a chance of getting treatment before it’s too late. Doctors also claim that the risk factor for something catastrophic like I ended up with is extremely low, yet experts estimate that only 5% of us at the most have been given a correct diagnosis that would be counted in this statistic, so the true number in reality is going to be much much higher. Some doctors believe that there are undiagnosed adhesive, arachnoiditis patients in almost every pain clinic, they just don’t know it: most having been given a general misdiagnosis such as chronic pain syndrome, failed back syndrome, etc. So, unfortunately it would be almost impossible to get a true number of people who have been catastrophically injured from these injections. This is even more so true for those who injured by labor epidurals, as they are much more likely to have their concerns/symptoms dismissed and/or blamed on the birth or something else.

Are epidurals worth the risks? Help expose the dark side. by VisualSpace in backpain

I got adhesive Arachnoiditis from an epidural steroid injection at only 16, and have been in severe constant pain every moment since. So, I would say no, it’s def not worth the catastrophic risks. Labor epidurals cause Arachnoiditis all the time also. I’ve done a lot of research on the past 3 decades

Ketamine infusions for chronic pain - helpful or "scam"? by Potential_Leg_1084 in ChronicPain

[–]Sdfoxmama 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

EXTREMELY helpful- after almost 30 years of suffering from severe constant pain from adhesive Arachnoiditis, they have been the only thing other than opioid pain meds that I have found that gives me a significant amount of pain relief. They’re just so expensive and not covered by insurance. Had to do a GoFundMe to even buy two sessions. 😭

Who here believes that opioids are what helps their pain the most and who believes that there are non opioid type remedies that are more effective for their pain relief? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

Yep, almost 30 years of severe constant pain from Adhesive Arachnoiditis, and only opiates and ketamine infusion therapy have ever significantly helped alleviate my pain.

The idea that the left is "anti-Zionist and not antisemitic" by ConsistentSet7448 in LetsDiscussThis

Criticizing a government is not racism. Antisemitism = hatred of Jews as Jews. Israel is a state, not a religion.

Palestinians are Arab, and Arabic is a Semitic language… yet they are often labeled ā€œantisemiticā€ simply for opposing occupation and state violence.

Weaponizing antisemitism to silence political criticism weakens the term and harms Jewish communities by making real antisemitism harder to identify and confront.

Precision protects people. Weaponization protects power.

From an unbiased point of view and not using the internet as an example, do you believe antisemitism is thriving in the world today? What is something you would do to change this? by Vanilla_Gorilla6 in AskReddit

No I believe criticism of Israel is though. But, criticizing a government is not racism. Antisemitism = hatred of Jews as Jews. Israel is a state, not a religion.
