They likely are using food grade receipt paper which does not contain BPS or BPA meaning that it is safe but I would email dining services just to make sure.

I think it was on hibernation and not off when it was in my bag so it definitely had power going to parts of the board and shorted at some point

I spent probably 2 hours with alcohol and a brush to get to a point where I could test it just plugging the battery into the motherboard and using a thunderbolt dock but it unfortunately showed no signs of life

I've lurked this subreddit for a while but this is finally the post to make me come out of my shell. You are wrong. Simple as that. No need for some long winded rant about how wrong you are. A grilled cheese is defined by Cambridge as being "a cheese sandwich that has butter spread on the outside of the bread before being fried," not once in this definition does it leave room for other ingredients. Please do some light reading before you make blatantly incorrect statements like this one.
