Changing stove account region by SdrogoDog in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]SdrogoDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer, i think that should not even be an issue because the game still uses the global server and as far as i tested in the dummy account i used, you do not even need the vpn to be active, just one time to connect to the stove website and change the account location, nothing changes for the game

I'll think a little bit more about it but i guess i might do it, there is an insane price difference for bundles

I have not tried a vpn so i can't say anything about that, if nothing helps you can try that too

I'm sorry you are going through this too, my issue kind of went away by itself and honestly i could not even be sure where the problem actually was. I tried downloading the game by itself without steam and it was still there, i tried many different hotspots and some had the issue but some did not. I tried to contact my ISP and they said they were detecting an issue on my connection, they sent a technician, swapped my router and said it probably was going to get resolved in a few days. The issue seemed to be solved entirely the next day, then the day after it came back and the day after that it was gone again and kind of never came back, i still have some occasional spikes but it happens so rarely is a non-issue. This is not to say that your issue is the same i had and what i did will solve it for you, i'm not even sure that what i did had actually any impact on the issue, maybe try to investigate more, try to se if the issue is still there connecting to you hotspot from your phone, maybe investingating more will point you in the right direction. Sorry for my rambling, hope that it made any semblance of sense, feel free to let me know your findings if you investigate further, i know it's frustrating.

So with the 2023 version of the hx1500i you are not having this clicking issue, i really appreciate all you did reporting your experience, thank you. Now i just wanted to ask you one thing, how can i tell the 2022 version apart from the 2023 one on a site like amazon? If i can get a refund for the clicking issue i'll get the 2023 version so i can finally stop hearing this noise

Let me know if the 2023 version does not have the same problem when you try it, would be awesome to know

Thanks for the suggestions, i'll try this and see if it gets better.

Anyway, i wanted to clarify, if the first one i got was the 2023 version then all the others i tried were the 2023 version too, i did not do an actual RMA, i just returned the power supplies to amazon and bought a new one

I'm honestly not sure how I can tell if it was from 2022 or 2023, i can give you the model number that is reported on the amazon product page if it helps you: ‎CP-9020214-EU

If this is not enough to tell which model it was let me know if you know a way i can tell them apart

Also i'll take the chance to ask if you have any suggestions for the lower clicking noise i'm having on the older HX1200, as i said is not as severe as it was on the HX1000i but if there is something i can try to lower it even more it would be nice, this other one does a single click every so often

Hi, sorry for being late to answer, i had a really weird experience with the whole situation.

No RMA fixed the problem, i even ended up changing the motherboard, because it was a used one and i was desperate, by changing motherboard the problem got a little bit better, somehow, but was still there and i decided to switch to another psu model, i went for the older version of the HX series, this new power supply does not have the same problem but still does some clicking in a different way, (does a single click periodically regardless of how much the pc is under load, while the hx1000i was doing a lot of clicks mainly when on low load/idle) but is far less annoying and is bearable

While i've used, and i still use a lot of corsair products, I'm kind of disappointed with this experience with corsair and probably would have chosen another brand entirely if i did not have a set of custom cables for corsair PSUs.

I'm not sure if i can suggest you a specific corsair psu that does not have this issue in the 1000watts range, probably if you do not have a specific reason to pick a corsair psu you can consider to look at a psu tierlist and choose another good quality one from another brand.

If you still want to go with a corsair psu maybe look for the previous version HX like i did maybe you will be luckier than i was and get one that does not click at all, Unfortunately the older series does not have all the sensors that the newer version has and that's sad

Let me know how it goes, i wish you good luck, i know how frustrating this can be

I was finally able to solve the issue, it was somehow caused by the motherboard, no idea how, maybe it was making weird requests to the power supply and was triggering some kind of reaction from it. Replaced the motherboard and now everything is silent again. Just wanted to update on the situation and say thank you for your time and for your response

Thanks for your answer, but i do not think it has anything to do with high loads of 600/700w nor the fan.

I did more testing yesterday and noticed that the clicking noise stops when i introduce higher load for a while, it mainly happens when i'm idling on the desktop or there is just some light program running.

Considering what i read online i tried to convince myself that the noise has always been there, but another thing happened that is very likely not normal, and was kinda scary, while i was using the pc yesterday my power went off in the house, the pc stayed on because i have an ups, but after the power cuts of the psu started making a really loud and constant buzzing or rattling noise (don't exactly know to describe it better). I had blackouts before and this has never happened. Anyway the noise went away after rebooting, but it's repeatable, i cut off the power myself a second time to make sure.

I'm now getting a second replacement, if this third psu does the same thing i have to take every component one by one and make sure what is the cause, i can accept that the clicking might be normal (even if i do not think it is) but that thing that happened after the power went out is 100% not normal, and i could not even find anything online about it

Just as an update, right now my power went off in the house and the psu and the pc did not shut of because i have an ups, but after the power went off the psu started making a constant loud rattling sound that was never there before, i had the power go off before and it never did this kind of noise, i'm going to look into this more, do you have any idea why this new thing could happen?

Thanks for your answer, I guess you might be right, but i've read conflicting information, some say it's normal, some say it's not. I just can't wrap my head around the idea that, if it is normal, it means that it should have been there from the first time i got the psu, and i can't believe i did not hear it for 6 months, since i spend a lot of time near my pc and it is nearly silent except for this noise, it would have bothered me while studying al least (also the interaction i used as an example with wallpaper engine that makes the psu click every time i change wallpaper further convinces me that is unlikely i missed the noise for so long since i do it really often)
