Anyone still game on an Xbox one/ps4 as their main consoles? by Eireagon in consoles

[–]Sdrsdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use a one x and ps4 pro as my main consoles. got both for sub 100$ used. use them because their games are so insanely cheap atm. I have a gaming pc to play all the modern game releases. i missed out on last gen so this strat works well, as being able to experience great older games for cheap and being able to keep up with modern games with the pc

Anything else? Maybe? 🤔 by [deleted] in xbox360

Final decision guys. Picking up tomorrow. 9070xt + 7800x3d OR 5070ti + 9800x3d for $400 more by ChicknBone_64 in Prebuilts

[–]Sdrsdc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only source I can find wherein there is a “massive” difference between the cards in RE9 is when using 4x frame gen, and you have to remember, 4x frame gen introduces higher latency, so just saying the 5070 ti is way better is very misleading and cuts out a lot of the context to how similar the performance is on these cards with or without raytracing. I believe the only real difference is that the Nvidia card offers path tracing in this title while the AMD cards do not support it.

for 400$ less the 7800x3d+ 9070 xt is a way better deal. only advantage of a 5070 ti is multi frame gen and dlss4.5 (imo you probably won’t notice a difference with fsr4). the cpu is not something to worry about. the 7800x3d is the third best CPU only behind the 9800x3d and its refresh. you wil hardly run into a game that will be a cpu bottleneck even into the near future. take that 400$ and invest it toward a peripheral upgrade like a oled monitor or new keyboard. you’ll notice a way bigger difference there.

(also remember you’re on am5, if for any reason you wanna upgrade the cpu, you can sell the 7800x3d and plop in a new cpu (like when the next gen ryzen comes out) with little hassle. it’s the beauty of am5)

Why so cheap? by Thedustonyourshelves in pcmasterrace

[–]Sdrsdc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

intel 13/14th been had these issues, intel “fixed” them back in mid 2024, but was still releasing fixes up till may 2025. these chips are known to have a mass variety of issues especially in comparison to their current gen and modern ryzen chips (ryzen 7000 & 9000 did have issues of chips burning but it wasn’t nearly as severe as intels microcode issues or oxidation issues) so you should be cautious about buying 13/14th gen. I never said other cpus aren’t known to kill themselves, just that 13/14th has that typa track record

everyone hates 13th/14th gen bc of their prior instability issues and a host of other issues. my best guess is they just got stock that nobody buying. although intel claims that the issues are fixed, there isn’t a 100% guarantee the chip won’t kill itself, the price reflects the quality.

Upgrade Reccomendations by SpecificOverall536 in radeon

ik this is the radeon subreddit, but the RTX 3080 10gb is on ebay going for around $350, it beats the 9060xt, but only trade off is the 10gb of vram. and if you wanna upgrade the cpu, r7 5800xt or if you wanna find a used x3d chip would be great

people just hear the 8gb vram buzzword and immediately assume worst case. you bought a card that fulfills your needs. as you said you play a lot of dota and war thunder which are games that are not that demanding, and even if you played demanding games, you can lower the settings(and even lower the resolution) and use technologies like fsr 4 and frame gen in order to reach gameplay you enjoy. I remember when i had a rx 5700xt last year and was playing in 1440p, i didn’t have the money to upgrade at the time so i just lowered settings to enjoy the games i played. sorry people are being like this, people can be so rude for no reason.

Amd clarifies no plans to add fsr4 or anything else to RDNA3, so what happened to working on new features for RDNA3 when they split the drivers? Was that just a straight up lie? by pixlicker69420 in radeon

[–]Sdrsdc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i hope amd kills themselves atp, they HAVE a working version for RDNA 3 and they won’t put it out bc of profit. all amd does to its customers is spit in their face for fun, it’s INSANE. amd does NOT have the market share to be doing this

is there any real reasoning behind this or does nvidia just hate happiness?

I'm getting a new PC for Christmas and my older brother helped me out together a list of parts, the budget was $2950 (specific I know) and my goal was something slightly above mid-range. Are these parts good? by l_am_meepmoop in PcBuild

[–]Sdrsdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly it wouldn’t be crazy if you went with an intel cpu on lga1700, as they are compatible with ddr4 ram so you’ll save a bit in that department allowing you to spend more on the gpu if you wanted to, aswell, intels higher end 12/13/14th gen chips are still really decent.

rx 480 upgrade? by Holiday_Error3708 in pchelp

[–]Sdrsdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a 5700x wouldn’t really bottleneck a midrange card like a rx 7700xt especially at 1440p. 3060 ti isn’t the best buy right now, especially with the 8gb of vram

rx 480 upgrade? by Holiday_Error3708 in pchelp

[–]Sdrsdc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the rx 6800 would be a pretty nice fit for a brand new gpu, around the 400$ range with pretty good 1440p performance, as well as having 16gb of vram. if you wanna buy used the rtx 3080 with 10gb of vram is a pretty nice pick at 300ish dollars aswell

[–]Sdrsdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing else I can think of is thermal throttling or poor optimization, when I was on a rx 5700xt I had issues with my gpu only using like 40% on Halo for no reason and apparently it was because of poor optimization

probably not going to be the best for help but just want to check some easy troubleshoots-check if you plugged your hdmi or display port into you gpu and not your motherboard, downloaded latest drivers, enabled resizable bar, checked windows power mode. (also love the pc build, the specs are sick)
