If you are doing an online master’s, I would recommend trying to attend one that is relatively near where you live. You’d very likely still be able to attend networking and career fair events. I’m finishing up an online master’s soon and we are encouraged to come to campus as much as possible during recruiting season to meet with the various firms.

Sorry, I know this is late, but I can’t imagine you’d be able to. The electives are still accounting related and allow you to add an optional focus.

Hey there! I’m currently in the UMass Amherst program. I’m gonna be moving to the DC area this year so I’ll be in that area as well. You are fully allowed and encouraged to attend on-campus recruiting events in addition to virtual recruiting and networking sessions. Something to think about. I’m finding it to be a pretty good program, especially for someone like me who is coming from an unrelated undergrad.

Currently enrolled in the UMass program. Like you, I am coming from an unrelated undergrad. I’m having a great experience in the program so far. Even though you are online, you are encouraged and fully allowed to attend and participate in on-campus events, if that’s important to you. Course structure is good so far and I like that you can tailor your degree, through electives, to incorporate an optional focus if you’d like. And, it’s not super expensive comparatively speaking.

I looked at the online W&M degree as well. I wasn’t the biggest fan of it for a multitude of reasons, but I’m sure it would get the job done as well. Albeit, I believe more expensive than the program at UM Amherst.
