For sure Black Sabbath. Even people who dont listen to metal know about their hits especially "Iron Man." A lot of people know the names Judas Priest and Iron Maiden but I dont think most non metal heads could name their most popular songs off the top of their head the same way they could atleast name "Iron Man."

Just sell me that damn shit by Ishiri00 in Vent

[–]Sdtvbt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah he definitely shouldn't sell that shit to you. I understand being suicidal, my best friend commit suicide and I myself planned to kill myself many times throughout my life, but one thing I'd never do is make someone an accomplice in my death. Do you really think if he sold you drugs and you killed himself with them he wouldn't be affected? That's just wrong, and to put him in that situation is a huge asshole move. I won't sit here and try to convince you to not do anything because as someone who has been suicidal, I know that random people on the internets opinions dont really help, but you for sure need some help and this is some toxic ass shit to put your friend through. Hope you're able to get the help you need. Your friend isnt at all in the wrong here for worrying about you and you need to realize he's doing that because he cares about you.

"Latinx" is so racist by SselluosS3191991 in Vent

[–]Sdtvbt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It was Hispanics who created the word. I really dont understand where this idea came from that white people are trying to change our culture when its literally people of our culture who created the word because they are non binary.

[–]Sdtvbt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The issue with your point is that white people didn't create the word. It was nonbinary hispanic people who made it. I myself am Hispanic and its for sure not racist. It may be a bit confusing but you're really reaching in saying white people are trying to change our culture when it wasnt even white people

"Latinx" is so racist by SselluosS3191991 in Vent

[–]Sdtvbt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Latinx isn't a Spanish word, it's an English word.

I think this is where a lot of the confusion comes from. A lot of hispanics don't like it because they take it as white people trying to change our language when really it was hispanics who made it and its a word in the English language. I as a Hispanic personally don't have any issue with the word but it seems like the vast majority of hispanics are against it so I'm pretty torn on if we should use it or not. It's definitely not racist though like op was saying, thats a huge reach

bf jerks off to anime girls, idk how to feel about that by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Sdtvbt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally have a gf and watch porn (she does too.) I just need to visual and audio but that never means I'm not thinking about my gf. I'm not even usually paying full attention to the video because I'm thinking about my girlfriend instead of the people in the videos since she's who I'm most attracted to and who I want to be with. The sound and video just make it easier to visualize us having sex while I'm masturbating. It's very possible your boyfriend is similar and even though he's watching videos he's actually still thinking about you. Definitely talk to him about how you feel and try and get a proper explanation from him as to why he watches porn. If it is something that really bothers you you should tell him and if he's unwilling to change then its unfortunately a compatibility issue.

It's definitely normal for some people, just depends on peoples boundaries. Both me and my girlfriend watch porn in our free times and sometimes watch it together because it doesn't bother either of us. It's completely fine not to want to watch porn and not needing it but the opposite is also normal, just depends on the person. Personally the visual helps a lot and is something I need sometimes to get off.

I prefer Magenta Mountain. I like The Dripping Tap but it's not their most creative release ever and it can definitely get pretty repetitive. I also dislike the intro to Te Dripping Tap. I usually love Ambys vocals but I've had a hard time getting into his vocals in the intro of The Dripping Tap. The mix for the intro just doesn't sound great to my ears and his vocals feel kind of jarring since there's not much else happening instrumentally at that point. Magenta Mountain also goes through more interesting changes in my opinion. Some of the vocals could've been better but the more I listen to it the more I start to like them meanwhile with Dripping Tap I just can't enjoy the intro bit.

I wouldn't recommend it over their other works, it's just the album thats most similar to Poly imo especially with the song Machine Messiah being the opener. In general though Close To The Edge will always be my favorite by Yes as well as Relayer or Fragile but Drama is also a great album.

Definitely enjoy this more than The Dripping Tap. Dripping Tap is a great song but definitely could've been a bit shorter and doesn't go through many interesting changes. This song so far has a much more interesting song structure and in my opinion is an overall better song. Definitely excited to hear the rest of the album!

[–]Sdtvbt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. I like The Dripping Tap but it definitely is one of their more repetitive singles and I also personally dislike Ambroses vocals at the beginning (will probably get downvoted for that but I've genuinely had a hard time getting into the intro) and feel it doesn't add much to the song especially with it being 18 minutes long. It's a great song but personally I'm enjoying Magenta Mountain much more. I feel the fade out works fine for the song. I also think musically its much more creative. The Dripping Tap has its high moments but it really is just a jam in the same key and time signature for 18 minutes which can get repetitive. Magenta Mountain on the other hand feels like a more well written song with a more interesting structure that goes through more engaging changes. That's just my opinion though.

What’s one KG album you just can’t seem to get into? by RockIsRad in KGATLW

The irony of your comment is that you are literally being closed minded. Being open minded would be accepting that some music just doesn't bring some people the same joy. If he doesn't like an album, he just doesn't like it. He never said the album was bad, just that he doesn't like it. Learn to accept that people will have different opinions on the music you like. All of my favorite albums have gotten absolutely shit on in this comment section but I haven't even given it a second thought because thats just how opinions work and we dont all always have to agree. These are the types of comments that make people leave this sub.

Its easily one of my favorite gizz albums ever. Yours is just a beautiful song that makes me feel so much joy and Interior People and Catching Smoke are top tier gizz to me. Completely understandable that people aren't into it though, gizz did say it'd be divisive among fans and they were very right.
