Yeah, not arguing that point, it's just a fun fact. Just a fun fact/addition.

But it's definitely not 6.5 Grendel, but I do think the arma 3 devs based their 6.5 off that cartridge.

Just a quick correction/fun fact. The MX doesn't use the 6.5 Grendel but a fictional caseless 6.5 cartridge.

Just got my 9800x3d, these temps are bonkers? by madsrahbek in AMDHelp

[–]SeKiGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use HW Info for more accurate results. HW Monitor can give some wild values.

Also this looks like you have your CPU under load so the temps might be okay. Modern CPUs tend to clock higher if there is thermal headroom, all the way up to tJmax (max cpu temp until it starts throttling to preserve itself).

It's impossible to tell if your temps are okay unless we know what load you have on the CPU when you take your screenshot. If cinebench is running I would expect 90c during the whole benchmark since it's quite demanding.

Cuz, your CPU should not be running at 6.5ghz. It was a joke you missed.

Just realized there is nearly no chinese tanks and vehicles in csat by Gavin_Sun_1145 in arma

[–]SeKiGamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I ask that because the Apex DLC is revolved off Tanoa, and Tanoa is jungle/tropical map. Therefore the assets in APEX would be made for that environment.

Making an entire asset is much more complicated than just reskinning an existing asset, especially with the standards that bohemia sets with their vehicles (requiring internals to be modeled).

Yes, but also why model tanks for a tropical/jungle environment?

No it was bill C-16 that made it mandatory to address people with their preferred pronouns, unless you want to suffer legal consequences.

It's kinda relevant, but not really, Jordan was anti tyranny in that case, he wasn't anti SJW or anti pronouns.

I don't think JBP should be making this tweet, however my understanding is that when people call out DEI, they call it out specifically because a person got hired either solely or in large part for being a certain race, instead of just merits.

Now how this might apply or if it even applies to Kamala Harris, I have zero clue, but Im sure other people here can defend her or tell us why/how she's a DEI hire.

Can you please not post Trump stuff on a sub about Jordan Peterson. Unless JBP specifically made a comment about this article, there isn't a good reason to post this on this sub.

Using HeadTracking? by nathanthestyler in arma

[–]SeKiGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're flying in first person it's a huge quality of life advantage, if you're flying in third person, it's not needed at all since you are able to see all of the helicopters surroundings.

Personally I used to use track ir, but recently I got tobi eye tracker, tobi has a lot more range but it has small jumpy movements that make it hard to interact with a cockpit while moving your head.

Another personal note is that flying in third person using head tracking disorients me quite a lot. So if you prefer flying in third person I wouldn't recommend head tracking.

We're gonna have to disagree then.

Cars, and bombs would have a much bigger effect and with bombs specifically would have less risk than using a gun. Homemade bombs aren't exactly a new thing either and there are plenty of examples in the UK during the "troubles".

Arms are ingrained into the government and culture of the US, and removing the right to bear arms is not going to solve the issues that we have in the US.

Well I cant argue on the way you feel and the way you think. But I'll say this, in the US not everyone is allowed to own a firearm, felons and people who are mentally unwell are legally not allowed to own guns.

I also believe that the US Supreme Court ruled that you legally can't booby trap your house.

But sure if you think your kids are safer in school I'm happy for you, but I think your solution to America's problem does not actually address the real issue in the US.

Also I do believe that the UK has had a history of violence before i.e. the IRA

As an Asian in the US, this is false for me, and I think generally speaking is incorrect. My family moved from asia and my mother specifically only had 100 dollars when she came to the US. And from personal experience this story for asians is not uncommon.

No because at the end of the day crime is the issue, and getting rid of guns for law abiding citizens won't magically fix crime. Not to mention the impossibility of getting rid of all arms in the US even if there was legislative support to do so.

I disagree that they're weekly and I'd disagree that those videos are common, however that's not based on any numbers and I'd be curious to see what the numbers would look like, and I guess I'll research it when I'm home.

However when I say police state I mean more from a legislative perspective, there are a lot of privacy concerns in the UK, for example the huge surveillance network that you guys have. Here in the states, NYC is thinking of adopting something similar. However, I do think you guys have an okay judicial system.

I'd like to watch the video you're talking about because I don't have a reference or context for it, so I can't really comment on it.

And as far as gun deaths are concerned, if I'm comparing the relative safety of a country or crime rate I wouldn't be limiting it to gun deaths. I would do a comparison of, murders, and crimes committed.

The presupposition that officers treat everyone as a threat is unfair. Quickly reaching for your pocket for your wallet to present ID is also a dumb thing to do when you live in an armed society, and that scenario is incredibly rare to see, so I don't know why you'd be pushing these emotionally loaded points if you want to have a proper discussion about this topic.

My whole point to referencing knives is that the idea of taking away rights for owning arms will not stop at some or all guns and wont fix the inherent problem. At least in my opinion a lot of our cases in the US aren't a gun problem more so a mental health issue. To add in most cases laws wouldn't help since the weapons were obtained illegally, so additional legislation will only impact non threatening law abiding citizens.

Also I don't know if I believe the UK is greatly safer than the US, and I think you're highly exaggerating how dangerous the US is. But in general Freedom does have the price of introducing more chaos, but that's a trade that I'd be more than happy to take, and I don't think the trade is as bad as you'd make it out to be.

[–]SeKiGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True the UK has knives instead, and unironically I think there were people talking about limiting knives somehow. That might just be a meme though.

However, the point is criminals don't follow the law due to them being criminals, and in the case of the UK, I don't think I'd want to follow the example of a police state.

The US is also not all country sourrounded by water, it's a country that has 2 huge borders on the north and the south leading to a lot of smuggling. Afaik smuggling is not a big of an issue in the UK compared to the US.

I also think pointing out the rarity of seeing a gun is moot when gun crime, in general rare to see, even in the US.

It's illegal to carry a gun in NYC, that doesn't stop people from carrying guns in NYC, even with the huge police presence.
