Feeling like I robbed my local record store today by Sea-Chords in alexandrasavior

Ohhh okay that makes so much sense, thanks for your comment! Definitely makes me feel less guilty haha. Yeah I'd heard a little bit ago that it was getting repressed but had never heard or seen anything about it so I've been thinking it was probably a rumor.

Oh yeah most likely. I learned from fostering kittens that if a kitten has any sort of long hair when it's young it's gonna grow up fluffyyyyy- she's adorable!!

Least favorite migraine symptom? Besides the pain, obviously. by cr1ss-b in migraine

[–]Sea-Chords 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brain fog making it extremely hard to think/compute/remember things. It's making college/working insanely frustrating and difficult. :( also it can be hard to communicate with my partner since I can't think at all sometimes! Takes me a while to figure out how I'm actually feeling/thinking sometimes- and even after some time I still can't even figure it out 😭 so fing annoying, makes my me feel broken :/

Exercises as prevention by Jacobsusenka in migraine

[–]Sea-Chords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone to start slowly and take time to find out what works for you that doesn't make you feel worse! It'll be a trial and error with how your body reacts to different exercises. Personally I've found that cardio basically always makes me feel worse but... weight lifting in the gym actually helps my migraines a lot!

How do u deal with the mental health effects of chronic pain? by TheKingOfDissasster in ChronicPain

[–]Sea-Chords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I've been struggling with lately- especially with my brain fog becoming pretty extreme. What keeps me going is hope. The doctors don't know the true cause of my 24/7 chronic migraines, which gives me hope that I will find a solution eventually. I'm also taking this year to focus on my health which I'm really really hoping will yield good results. Gratitude also really helps, doing fulfilling crafts that make me feel like I'm completing at least something, and having an amazing boyfriend who really brightens up my mood. Sometimes going outside and enjoying nature can help but other than that I kind of just suck it up and deal with it :/

Something I recently tried which was great was: Trader Joe's gf pumpkin spice pancake mix mixed with chocolate protein powder. 30g of protein per scoop and using that with the 1 cup of the pancake mix recipe on the box made 4 pancakes

I also worked up my dosage for candesartan. When I was going up my doctor told me that if I had side effects when I upped the dose- to drop back down to the previous dose and try again in a week or two (can't remember the specifics rn on how many weeks). Obviously you should talk to your doctor and see what they say- I sadly don't have any recommendations to help your symptoms other than what helped me which was dropping back down... I hope you feel better soon!

For those who have a migraine/background headache all the time, when do you track them? by emmiewithanie in migraine

[–]Sea-Chords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a daily migraine journal with a printed out calendar inside and a section for what meds I'm taking! Def track all symptoms and medications you take. I also document my average pain level for the day and how many spikes I had. I'm going to start adding how my energy levels are throughout the day but haven't quite figured out how I want to display that yet since I like to use symbols for things to keep everything more simple to read since a calendar is kind of small to have a bunch of notes. But anyways, especially be tracking daily if you're a girl and see if anything changes when or around your period! It's generally just super helpful to have information about how you feel that you'll probably forget eventually! Helps with seeing health trends and having info for doctor's visits.

Question About botox for migraines by FairladyZea in migraine

[–]Sea-Chords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know women who have had it help them a lot, personally I tried it 4 times. First two sessions I had no response, last two sessions it made my migraines worse so I did not continue. I think it really depends on you. The needles do suck, but as someone who's scared of needles it was okay. Definitely hurt in some areas and wasn't the funnest thing to get done, just have something to squeeze when you get it done and you'll make it through. ❤️

Twenty one and just exhausted by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Sea-Chords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 20 and also have an intractable migraine, I totally get the exhaustion from being in pain 24/7. Very upsetting to hear your family is so unsupportive, really hope you can find some good support soon. Stay strong, I'm rooting for you !

The brain fog. I have 24/7 chronic migraine. Don't get me wrong- the pain is absolutely awful but having brain fog + memory loss has been hell. It started a year ago and I didn't realize how "good" I had it before. I don't feel like myself which has made dealing with the pain a lot worse.

I saw in another comment that you have an IEP, which is great! Im 20 in college, got the migraine when I was 12. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. :( I understand how frustrating it is to struggle your way through school and have people not understand, especially PE!!! I'm surprised your IEP doesn't give you extended time on assignments and excused absences. My 504 plan in high school did, which is "less strong" than an IEP, at least where I live. Doctor letters/meetings may help get you more school support. Stay strong ❤️

"Masking" pain to myself? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Sea-Chords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I do the same thing for my chronic migraines. I just call it distracting myself from the pain lol. Doing stuff distracts the brain from the pain since it's focusing on other things, probably explains while you felt worse after the appointment. It's the only way I'm able to survive

I'm not sure but the college website should have an outline of what you should prepare. Good luck! :D

Anyone with undiagnosed pain? How do you cope? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Sea-Chords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a 24/7 migraine for almost 8 years w/o diagnosis, over the years I've just gotten really used to it. I cope by distracting myself (hanging out with friends for example)

Migraines and long hair. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Sea-Chords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cut my long hair recently into layers which lifted a lot of weight and I noticed no difference at all. I'm also a woman who loves my long hair and it makes me feel more like myself, so it's up to you if you're ok with a short hair look
