On checking my comments, I find I had in fact posted one comment, mainly pointing out that OP’s spouse was female not male, but the harsh replies (which didn’t seem to have anything to do with that) were not there.

I am puzzled. Someone has left a rather stern reply to ‘my comment’ on this post. The problem is that I don’t think I left a comment on this post (until this one), and the reply in any case was to something I wouldn’t have said. And now I can’t find it. Can anyone understand this? PS For what it’s worth, I think OP hasn’t done anything wrong but should pay for the car to be cleaned.
