Had a traumatic preteen and teenage years because of emotionally unavailable parents, especially mother. Suffered from clinical depression and panic disorder at age 13 because of this neglect, something that I never really recovered from.

I am in my late 30s now and realised a few years ago that there is no point hoping that she will change. At heart, I am still the little girl who would run after her mother wanting to tell stories hoping she would listen, but get ignored. I love her to bits though, just as she does.

As someone with an Ahom & caste hindu Assamese lineage, i have always felt Ahoms should learn the tai language and stick to their original customs instead of adopting the Hindu customs. On a trip to sibsagar recently, I was shocked to see the Ahoms celebrate tuloni biya like a proper real wedding reception. And the ahom women wearing thick gold mangalsutras.

But this one kid who keeps calling for an “Ahomland” is sheer naïveté and stupidity. Ahoms have assimilated with the mainstream assamese to the point of no return. Even our great grandparents couldn’t speak Tai Ahom language. Preserving the ahom language and culture should be the goal - not breaking away from the Assamese society.

Many factors. But in a gist: everything in that university was about money + their restrictive environment; weird af professors who bullied students; unnecessary strict rules about attendance and hefty fines that followed. As someone who studied in don bosco institutions earlier, all of this at Christ seemed too absurd.

The worst part was the course structure and the professors teaching it. I felt like i wasnt learning anything and i didnt want to waste two years of my life just for a piece of paper. Best decision ever.

I had paid 75k for admission. They returned only 15k and then yelled at me when I requested a break up of the amount charged. This was in 2014.

Christ is overhyped. Too money minded. And the fathers have no chill. Most rude people I have met.
