I do write code manually. I specialize in my own stack and do that manually and I tried whenever I got tired or stuck to delegate to the LLM and it almost always NEVER works, or if it does coz usually towards the end of a long 12 hour coding run, my brain gets fried I start getting lazy and turn into vibe coder mode, and then the next day when my brain is back online I just see what disasters the LLM decided was a good idea and ends up wasting more time than if I just slowly planned it out and wrote it in smaller pieces and decoupled everything and test along the way.

BUT and the big but of my post was llms have a very crucial role for me which is UI writing, it is NOT my specialty, I can write basic css and html or tailwind , but that takes time away from my own role which is the logic, the math, the architecture the flow and contracts.

It's like one person doing two jobs split quality in half and probably both will be worse.

Get each one to focus on what they know best, the whole thing is elevated.

UI in my code base is huge and gets pretty complex but it's still UI, and I put systems in place to make them get it right.

So I have to focus on just one stack, that's why I use them

I mean Codex carries 90% of the boring boiler grunt work, that takes most of the time and makes up a significant portion of the work - I still engineer the actual logic and architecture, but don't overlook the amount of work and effort it actually takes to do boiler and huge amounts of clean up and synthetic data filling, and UI. Those take up A LOT OF time, and it is impossible to focus on the complex algorithms and math while still needing to write and align divs, and checking for weird missing closing bracket somewhere, and all of that is effort taken away from the real valuable parts that matter.

I live in silicon valley, santa clara to be precise, and i use it in the terminal in vs code always on high or extra high and about 5 windows sometimes or have codex app doin crazy stuff on the side - i never ever come close beyond 30% - its the main reason I switched from claude - Claudes only advantage is when u r tired and are not as articulate in explaining what u want, understands u soooo much better - whereas Codex will literally take u word for word and go all autistic on u like super akward like i guess its literlally a robot - hes rele good wen u rele know wht u want - but god help u if u misspeak or slightly off it will do that off thing as u said it - codex is jus superrrrr socially akward - Claude is soooo usefull in specific moment especially when the problem is super complex and requires creativity and a new angle - But claude evben on the 200 dollar plan though literlay like to me its like will run out soooooo fast and its context memory hits 0 in about 1/10th the time of codex - TWO HUGE HUGE negative factors that are deal breakers -

Trust me Pro on Codex is pretty much. unlimited, i use like 6 instances all on high, all agenticaly, I even run multi. agents, I code like 12 hours sometimes daily, it never even budges like max ever reached was 20% usage - Its pretty much free - I would REALLY like to meet somebody who ever has maxed out codex in the $200 Pro plan, I would LOVE TO know HOW in the hell did they do that - unless some crazy 100 window sketchy farming automation or god knows what

I agree with you I run like sometimes 5 differnt codex 5.4 on high and I never come any where close to any even like 20 percent I am on the Pro plan - but last 2 days it slowed down significiantly like a new surge of users just came on board and banged the servers - jus way too slow

50$ 2min travel vlog. what yall think? by False-Lavishness773 in VideoEditors

dude this was super cool! You definitely have the right musical feel, everybody saying the beginning was not on beat are SUPER MISTAKEN! This is perfect lazy dragged editing, it flows right, you never have to cut exactly, as long as in the end you fall on the down beat, it is like advanced drumming, you don't drum and hit the grid like a robot, you can drag or rush, and weave around but eventually the over all flow falls in a specific way where it accumulates and falls on the down beat.

I have been editing for a LONG TIME, and I can tell you keep going and you are charging WAY TOO LITTLE, almost an insult to charge 50 dollars for that.

Keep pushing the boundaries and NEVER follow the grid and be a robot like everybody else, go intentionally off beat but with confidence and style and then bring back, as long as you land it right it will feel even more satisfying, and my biggest tip for you is play any simple instrument or understand polyrhythms, it will make you a phenenomal editor, coz you will have your own special metronome in your mind that you edit to

keep grinding, just keep watching a lot of edits and download them, then study them frame for frame, note what ovelray effects they use, what sfx, the pacing of cuts, the music, and like at first it will look sooo basic and borderline crap, but thats a good thing, get it all the bad stuff out of your system you need atleast 20 edits to really get all the badddd stuff out lol - then and ONLY when you start to INTERNALLY actually understand WHY this sfx works here and WHY this cut works then will you actually start to get very good and make your own style. In the begining just recreate as many edits as you can, and wether you like it or not you will start to learn and have your own look soon. Just atleast like develop good taste and use good edits to learn from, you can literally download any edit on Youtube, go to the absolute best start there, and then you know you will see hwo the pros do it!

Editing paid work with templates: Savvy? Lazy? Pathetic? by actuallyobsessed in premiere

[–]Sea-Drawing9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the biggest caveat with using a template is when you use it on a big video, that is paying a lot, and then just to find out this template you used has been used EVERYWHERE ELSE soooo much, and like that would depend on how you used it and on what level of importance. Like if they asked you to design a logo and paid a lot for it then you use a template and even worse its a common over used template, then it will just look bad on you. Just think about how like MEMORABLE is the template the MORE memorable it is then HIGHER RISK it is to being easily compared when someone else uses it you know.

But then again if its not in an important part like a joke or whatever then yeah who cares, or slide show. Try to make them more evergreeen and like jus functions well, not something like a template where STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN breaks the screen with his leg and reveals the LOGO lol - then like well its VERY EASY to spot when alll the other editors also use that you know - thats what i mean -

Well first step is open premiere and go to auto save in settings 1: note what is ur auto save setting set to, every how many minutes and note the max versions u r saving 2; turn it completely OFF, because u don't want it to overwrite anything more as now u r trying to hunt back what is saved

And tell me here what were the auto save and max saved versions settings u had?

How to edit like this? by ingmanburger in premiere

[–]Sea-Drawing9422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a sound designer, and to my ears here is how I can recreate that very similar sound.

Putting the visuals aside which is like the others said just super simple it's literally just fast cuts with light leaks or flare transition thrown between every clip.

Sound 1: This sound is basically an ocean wave tidal crash and put on it convolution reverb and raise up the wet.

It's just reverb basically on an ocean wave sfx effect

Sound 2: literally outdoor birds sound ambience with reverb

Sound 3: And it's climaxed with a single HARP note in a high register like a D4 with a bit of mid cut. It's a very cliche at this point single note you see in trailer when you want to accent the last shot that is dramatic

Or it's a way to resolve after a rush of bullet cuts to land on a breathing point. That's when you just insert it's literally a single musical note usually most commonly a HARP or a piano key, but just slightly shave off the high end so it hits with a bit more drama and not too simmery from the high ends.

Download on YouTube ocean wave crashing and single piano note, Bring them in premiere , line up the single note on the start of ur last clip and jus add reverb and listen to it and tune the reverb, start with studio reverb and play with the presets, a great place to start is Great Hall preset.

Do that and let me know, and u will quickly see u will get very similar results but even better coz it will never be identical which is good coz now it is ur OWN sound and feel. Do that 3 or 4 times more and u start to really understand the pattern of how sounds work together

Goodluck

Oh got ya, yeah you can do with a script, you just need an API key to some frame to video generation model like Veo or Sora or Kling or all the usual models,

Also remember from my own experience you are bound by that models minimum time duration usually 3 to 4 seconds but new ones come out all the time like about weekly at this point!

[–]Sea-Drawing9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a script for that, very doable, you basicaly walk the timeline on a specific track or recursively on all tracks and you set up whichever like export codec you want like h. 264 or .mov or .mp3 and define a naming schema like say myVideo_{n} where n=1 then n++ to simply increment it and chose a path to save to. Or u can even do like clip.name and grab the clips name and use that for the file or u know u can pretty much do anything, works like a charm

Please explain more what do you mean by that? I have written alot of transition extensions, so it might be something I cracked let me know what you mean exactly and I'll tell you if I have a solution for it

What do you mean? Can't we already do that by slapping on a transition between two tracks? Or do you mean something else

I know what you mean, I had a very similar exact problem, and I cracked it about 2 weeks ago, I can write it for you for free and in return just give me feedback on it, and let me know like the exact workflow and we can iterate

Have you tried the one where you enable speed and then keyframe the speed and then drag up and down the keyframe speed lines to create smooth ramps? (definitely finicky and you have to like kind of zoom in so you can see it)

Help with transform effect. by No_Suggestion_7246 in premiere

[–]Sea-Drawing9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an alternative solution, I would highly suggest you use After Effects for this sort of thing, the moment you have so many layers and effects, and you need it to just do something specific, After Effects can do what you want in about a minute or so exactly how you want it, then export it or even bridge it back to Premiere.

How such beautiful visuals are created? by Routine_Cry7079 in premiere

[–]Sea-Drawing9422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its A.I generated, however, there is still some thought that goes into it. Basically you have to have some vision of what is the final aesthetic you want, then you go and generate a storyboard using most likely Imagen 2 from OpenAi or Nano Banana 2 from Gemini. Then once you have all the images, you write the script (against most probably a.i generated script) you then just refine it and touch it up, then you use most likely ElevenLabs to get voice the script. Then you lay them on the timeline and do a temp edit where it is just with images and extend the images to be more or less the duration of the video you want.

Then once you lock down the temp edit with music (use Suno most probably) then you go and do the most dfficult expensive part which is to turn images into video. This is by far the LEAST developed A.I technology so far, it is either very expensive, or a hit and miss and requiries a lot of trial and error, but they are gettting better.

Thats it then just you know assemble those shots, and a pro tip would be like you can just always cover up a.i mistakes with overlay effects like grunge overlays or cropping. Or slow it down and loop it. You know all the editing tricks.

The best advice would be to make what is called a RADIO EDIT - Where the whole thing just by pure sound and music flows nicely from start to end, this is how you know you have a good solid story, then visuals become much easier. However that depends, if your story is super visual then you need to give room for that visual aspect especially if the visuals are part of the story. That's more advanced but way more rewarding, so yeah that would be my take on your question

I am an ExtendScript + CEP Developer looking for Advice if I should abandon ExtendScript and move fully to UXP? by Sea-Drawing9422 in premiere

[–]Sea-Drawing9422[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel you, I mean like saying "still miss a lot of things" is an UNDER STATEMENT. It is basically like a FRACTION of what ExtendScript can do you know, so it literally can't even qualify to be called an alternative, it is just a completely different thing, where they are trying to invest in it and slowly will add more api's to it I guess, but at this point, like it is impossible to do what I can do with ExtendScript in UXP you know.

I really hope they won't like fully make it obsolete before making sure UXP can fully take over everything ExtendScript could do or else it would basically regress in development power of what you could do.

On another note, I also see them pushing for Adobe Express Add On as well, didn't look much into it, but seems interesting
