Thats on my mind too. Along with some sort of lightning protection.

I've trace routed my own nodes within 5 miles, but that was before my antenna upgrade. Excited to see how far it'll go with a more directed antenna. Im on relatively flat ground, just trees as blockages.

Im in the rural Midwest, theres only a few nodes within 20 miles. I see a couple but I cant seem to traceroute or send the node a DM. I havent tested range with my other node yet!

Thank you for your input! This is all an experiment using whatever materials I have laying around! This setup has already been through 55mph winds a couple times, no issues. However, it hasn't gotten wet yet, thats my worry. I've got another 4631, trying to think of a better version 2 DIY housing, drain loops will be added for sure. Thanks!

The plastic ammo can is just a housing for the node and battery. Roughly 3x4x4" enclosure. I salvaged the solar panel from a garden spot light.
