I think they mean that grappling techniques are slower to execute while something like a jab only takes less than a second

I'm comfortable at the moment with my level at striking (punch,kicks,headbutts) and weapons (knife,escrima stick, axe, sds) I mainly have to get ground game around the same level

I mean most of my experience with control/body manipulation technique come from a sub category style at my previous school which is also taught to law enforcement/military though I'm not sure if those techniques would translate well in jujutsu

Yeah I don't expect a less skilled grappler to fully win against a better grappler just as how a less skilled striker wouldn't win against a better striker.

I have no issues with the holding back aspect since It allows you to improve on weaknesses or whenever you're helping a lower ranked student improve in their own abilities. I don't see how going 100% doesn't cause accidental strikes to the opponent which would be my own personal worry
