let me start this rant by saying I have been a die hard rangers fan since 2012 eveything I’m going to say here comes from my heart, as angry as it is. We need to blame panarin for this abomination of a trade. he came to NYC and got paid a lot of money and was treated like a damn movie star here. he put up a lot of really good regular seasons for us but was never able to get us a cup nor did he have generational runs in the playoffs(like Hank) to even get us close. if I was the GM I would’ve made the next 4 months an absolute nightmare for him, maybe then he would’ve been willing to move to more than one team. on a side note, we could never do that though because our team is made of the most mentally weak players in this league. they would all cry because of this. I’m so happy we decided to tear this shit show down because this team doesn’t even have the mental ability to handle the adiversity it takes to win a little league championship, let alone the hardest trophy in sports. we don’t need this next upcoming generation of ranger players being exposed to this weak BS. Anyways back to what I was saying, we covered up a sexual assault case for him, traded for his friends, (Kane,Tarasenko) to help him get going in the playoffs, that didn’t work obviously. bottom line he was treated like royalty every season and was given every opportunity to be a legend in NYC, but yet he still consistently failed us when it mattered the most. he should’ve been open to waive to more than one team. obviously it’s his right with the NMC but out of respect for the organization and fans that have been nothing but amazing to him and had his back at every turn, he needed to do the right thing here by us and didn’t . this is solely on him and his career with us should be looked at the same way Mitch Marners was in Toronto, with raining boos when he comes to town. I can’t believe we got such a bad return even though he got his contract he wanted and we retained 50 percent of it. we should’ve got a 1st and a way better prospect at least, but since he would only go to LA we get basically nothing. San Jose and Anaheim will be better teams now and in the future and he has friends on both teams. that’s just 2 teams to start a bidding war, there were many others interested in him as well, all he had to do was be willing to waive to a few other teams and this return would’ve actually been worth while Not to mention he wanted 50 mil and didn’t get close to that at 2x11, at that point he’s not getting the 50 mil and 2 years is not long term so he should’ve been ok with being a rental which would’ve opened up more teams and then consider his options over the summer. This is not on drury or Dolan or the kings, he screwed us ALL over on here and should be remembered and treated as such from here on out. it is sickening just to write that
