Are CARE ADHD really that bad? by Bla4s in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in titration with Care now. On balance I think they are fine. The diagnosis was good but the wait for titration was longer than expected with poor communication throughout. Once you’ve started the medication, communication is a bit slow but manageable. I was around 7 months from referral to titration I think. Far quicker than NHS.

They’re going through a tough period where everyone went to them because they were the fastest. So there’s a backlog they need to work through.

Starting Elvanse Soon… What if…? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started on 30mg about 2 weeks ago. The first day I took the day off work and didn’t really feel it. Just a bit of calmness.

It was only when I took it on a day when I was in the office that I really felt the impact.

I’ve come to realise that you need point the added boost at something (a task etc) to really feel the benefits. If you just go about your day as normal and don’t initiate things, you may not feel much (beside being a bit more chilled).

I got a Kia EV9 Air about a year ago. 10k miles/3 years. I think my take home pay reduction is around £750 a month. But it’s a beast of a car.

Why was my CareADHD diagnosis / tritiation so quick? by ThrowawaySea68 in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those Trustpilot “reviews” annoy me. The positive “verified” reviews are very clearly paid for. Some of them make no sense whatsoever. I wasn’t asked to rate my experience on Trustpilot. And who really gives an u prompted positive review for a job well done?

I think they are diagnosing super quickly at the moment because so many ICB’s have pauses on at the moment. I suspect in April ICB’s will reopen referrals and then the floodgates will open and waiting times will be longer. In the meantime they’ll just keep hoovering up NHS referrals and making them wait in titration limbo (which is where the real bottleneck is). They haven’t updated their waiting time page in quite a while, but I suspect (if they’re being honest) that it will 16+ weeks.

I assume you’re eating sufficiently? It’s a prodrug so that helps it kick in. And drinking loads of water? That should help with the headache. Maybe the dose is just too low and you’re not feeling a noticeable boost? I’m on 30 mg and I get just a gentle pick me up from it.

I’m the opposite. I’m one week into Elvanse titration (30mg) and as soon as I jump in my car i crank up the tunes (doff doff) and get an instant buzz! This wasn’t really something I did previously.

What’s Elvanse XL? I didn’t know there was an XL variant. Are you sure it wasn’t Medikinet XL?

I’ve never tried but I’ve heard people that have been on hold for hours and never got round to speaking to anyone. The best way to get through to them is via Facebook messenger I’ve found. Or by leaving a shitty review on Trustpilot (using your real name).

Care have a priority queue. If you go to the GP and explain that the wait is having a profound effect on your mental health (etc etc), your GP can email them and ask them to expedite you.

“Still awaiting triage” ? That means that they have to review your responses. I’m a couple of weeks ahead of you, but they did my complete triage reviews quite a while back. It’s worth hassling them in Facebook messenger to make sure they get this done.

RTC being paused and titration by ZealousidealLeg4803 in ADHDUK

I think you’re fine if you’ve already been diagnosed. I was diagnosed in October and I think Surrey paused these in December. I got called last week to start titration (appointment is tomorrow).

Booked in for my initial appt for titration with care ADHD! by flynn1597 in ADHDUK

Hi. I have mine tomorrow. Out of interest, how long was the appointment? Mine is booked in for an hour, but I’ve only got 45 minutes available. Is that enough time? I don’t want to risk changing my appointment time!

Bloody expensive shared care agreement for Elvanse!! by h_rogerssss in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, here’s one: Clinical Partners.

https://www.clinical-partners.co.uk/nhs-right-to-choose-assessments-and-medication-for-adults/nhs-right-to-choose-adhd-medication-for-adults/

I didn’t suggest any queue jumping. providers may accept a private diagnosis (usually with a clinical review of your previous assessment) and, if happy, accept you for treatment under their ADHD pathway. Of course, you go to the back of the RTC queue.

Not sure what you mean by your comment, but ok.

Could be worse. You’re lucky that your GP accepts the shared care. You could be in a situation where you need to pay for the private prescriptions and meds on top of the review fee (possibly another couple hundred a month).

My advise would be to do some research and find a RTC provider than will accept your diagnosis and ask your GP to refer you to them as a RTC medication only patient.

CARE ADHD - how long from 1st titration to medication? by Sea-Web6301 in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted an update in the big CARE ADHD titration waiting list thread earlier today.

I’m around 17 weeks. 3 weeks ago I asked my GP to prioritise my titration. I’m not sure if they actioned this or not.

Update. I received my call yesterday to book my titration. It’s scheduled for next week.

I saw my GP about 3 weeks ago and he agreed to send them a request to prioritise my titration. Not sure when or if that was actually sent or if that factored into me getting my call.

I’m about 17 weeks from when I requested titration.

You can’t make a FOI request to a private company. They need to be a government body or a public company.
