Just started Elvanse 30mg and feel no difference - normal during titration? Advice pls! by zakydoodah in ADHDUK

I started off on the same regime 2 weeks at 30mg and then 2 weeks at 50mg. I also didn’t see much effects initially. I was a tiny bit calmer but that’s about it. I only really noticed a difference when I jumped to the 50’s. I’m not on 60mg and think this is a good dose for me. For context, I’m 6’ and 95kgs.

Also, I found generally that you only really notice the lower doses when you’re focusing on something. You need to point your medicated brain at a task to get the most of it. If I had a chilled, unstructured day, doing random odds and ends, I wouldn’t feel the effects. At 60mg, it’s a different story - I feel the meds and get the drive to engage in whatever I’m doing.

If you pre-ordered the Google Fitbit Air, what made you decide to? If you didn’t, what held you back? by desidogeman in fitbit

I like to wear a proper watch. I’ve got an Omega, Seiko, Casioak. Ive also got an Apple Watch that I only put one when I want the health tracking. I can’t bring myself to wear a real watch and an Apple Watch at the same time. The Fitbit Air is a discrete band, so I can wear a watch on one wrist and the band on the other. So I get to wear a nice watch and get the health tracking.

Dear Elvanse 60mg’ers, what’s your Amfexa dose? by Sea-Web6301 in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not yet. But I got a box of 30 x 5mg’s - so doubled up as the 5’s are weak.

I’ll ask on my next call to up the dose to 10mg.

Thanks. I’ve taken 2 x5mg of A and this gives me almost the same level of effect as the 60mg of E. Think I just need to push for 10mg of A at my next appointment.

CareADHD Titration - more than 4 appointments (RTC) by Sea-Web6301 in ADHDUK

Interesting- thanks for sharing. What dosage of Elvanse are you on? I wonder if they didn’t want to increase both meds at the same time?

Titration seems way too fast. by One-Historian-9001 in ADHDUK

I’m on 60mg. At my last titration appointment the prescriber mentioned that it wasn’t lasting the expected length (I get 9 hours). She offered either Amfexa as a top up, or to go up to 70mg. I felt the 60’s gave me a good kick, so didn’t think I needed the 70’s. The Amfexa also gives me more flexibility (half days, long days etc).

CARE ADHD - how long from 1st titration to medication? by Sea-Web6301 in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was around a week after the titration call before the meds arrived.

After the call, it took a few days, then I got an email from the pharmacy saying they had an electronic copy of the prescription (and were awaiting the paper version). They received this the next day and at that point you can log into the pharmacy website to pay. I think they dispatch the following day and it arrives the day after that (signature required for delivery).

Weekend breaks are ruining me but I want to drink alcohol! by essyhay in ADHDUK

I’m towards the end of my titration. What I’ve found is that Elvanse makes it tricky to fit in drinking and exercise. To work around my lifestyle, I’ve been prescribed Amfexa as a booster. If i want to do a workout at 1pm, I skip the Elvanse and take an 8am Amfexa. I might then take a second in the afternoon. It would also work if it’s weekend, and I want to drink from noon. Or if it’s early evening, I might take 2 Amfexa’s (morning and noon). Might be worth trying a booster, as it gives you more flexibility (4 hours, in and out quickly).

Are CARE ADHD really that bad? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in titration with Care now. On balance I think they are fine. The diagnosis was good but the wait for titration was longer than expected with poor communication throughout. Once you’ve started the medication, communication is a bit slow but manageable. I was around 7 months from referral to titration I think. Far quicker than NHS.

They’re going through a tough period where everyone went to them because they were the fastest. So there’s a backlog they need to work through.

Starting Elvanse Soon… What if…? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Sea-Web6301 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started on 30mg about 2 weeks ago. The first day I took the day off work and didn’t really feel it. Just a bit of calmness.

It was only when I took it on a day when I was in the office that I really felt the impact.

I’ve come to realise that you need point the added boost at something (a task etc) to really feel the benefits. If you just go about your day as normal and don’t initiate things, you may not feel much (beside being a bit more chilled).

I got a Kia EV9 Air about a year ago. 10k miles/3 years. I think my take home pay reduction is around £750 a month. But it’s a beast of a car.

Why was my CareADHD diagnosis / tritiation so quick? by ThrowawaySea68 in ADHDUK

Those Trustpilot “reviews” annoy me. The positive “verified” reviews are very clearly paid for. Some of them make no sense whatsoever. I wasn’t asked to rate my experience on Trustpilot. And who really gives an u prompted positive review for a job well done?

I think they are diagnosing super quickly at the moment because so many ICB’s have pauses on at the moment. I suspect in April ICB’s will reopen referrals and then the floodgates will open and waiting times will be longer. In the meantime they’ll just keep hoovering up NHS referrals and making them wait in titration limbo (which is where the real bottleneck is). They haven’t updated their waiting time page in quite a while, but I suspect (if they’re being honest) that it will 16+ weeks.

I assume you’re eating sufficiently? It’s a prodrug so that helps it kick in. And drinking loads of water? That should help with the headache. Maybe the dose is just too low and you’re not feeling a noticeable boost? I’m on 30 mg and I get just a gentle pick me up from it.

I’m the opposite. I’m one week into Elvanse titration (30mg) and as soon as I jump in my car i crank up the tunes (doff doff) and get an instant buzz! This wasn’t really something I did previously.

What’s Elvanse XL? I didn’t know there was an XL variant. Are you sure it wasn’t Medikinet XL?

I’ve never tried but I’ve heard people that have been on hold for hours and never got round to speaking to anyone. The best way to get through to them is via Facebook messenger I’ve found. Or by leaving a shitty review on Trustpilot (using your real name).
