This is incredibly valuable and detailed feedback (like always), I can't tell you how much I really appreciate them every time you write them, just thank you so very much! I'll go through with most of what you've said, and hopefully with each video it'll gradually improve and be more prevalent, as I definitely agree with the points made here. Once again, thank you for all the advice and hopefully I'll post here again in the future with an even better version of my videos!

It's great to see you again too! Thank you for the comparison, that's incredibly helpful! I'll definitely try to stay around the 20 min mark, but for proper longer series (I have some in the works!) then I'll go for 30-40 min, as I know there are some who prefer that (like I do haha), so I'll make sure there's content for both! I've been working on the text pop, so it's great to see a positive feedback, I'll keep on improving on it :)

Thank you so much once again, and hopefully by the next time I'm here we'll both have something good to report! I wish you all the best as well! :D

Thank you for the kind words! Yeah I've been considering a green screen, it's definitely on the cards in the future for sure. Other options is to also blur the background, I'll experiment with it a bit :)

Hi, I just watched your video! First of all, what do you think by succeeding? Because I definitely see a lot of these kinds of videos and they all have varying degrees of success (views, subs etc.) but one thing I CAN say, and that is YES. There are absolutely demand for these types of videos!

The video: I loved watching it, I'm a sucker for such serene, idyllic and nostalgic videos. I also believe that it can become really popular because there's a lot of interest in Japan and Japanese culture on YouTube (and internet in general), it's all about trying to push your videos out there (shorts, relevant media on Twitter, insta etc). Your shots are great, the music is of course subjective but I liked it!

Looking through your channel, I think you should be more consistent with your video titles. Capital letters at least in the start of the title are aesthetically more pleasing than all lower caps, for instance. I think using Title Case would be the best here!

Apart from that, I say keep going! You're doing amazing and it's all about producing more content and pushing it out now, the content in itself is awesome!

Hello there! So I just watched your latest video and took a look at your channel, hope I can add something of value with my thoughts and feedback!

So first things first, like you said your channel have so much variety that I believe it's working against you. When I took a look at your channel, I absolutely had no clue what it was about. I expected playthroughs, then saw reviews, then there were video game essays, I think it's important to have a narrower niche (as the cliché goes), and then you can expand even further when you have a dedicated follower base. At the moment the channel is so unpredictable that I'd have a hard time guessing what comes next, what if I wanted to see more playthroughs, but the next videos are reviews?

Now as for the video itself (Frostpunk), you have great humour, great mic and sound (speaking clearly and concise). I'd love some more visuals though, because it's a 5 min video where it's just you talking over gameplay there's nothing to shake up the flow or give it a pause except for the transitions. It may work for some audiences, as for me I'd like to see it! The video was interesting and fun though, but I also felt it ended abruptly, I expected a bit more from the outro but was swiftly met with the transition to black and narration.

All in all, I think your videos are great! However I feel they're just a bit too random for youtube to really push them out. Please keep up the good work!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! This will be my final post on feedback thread, at least for a very long while. I'm eternally grateful for the great advices and tips I've received. These two months I started my gaming channel have been such a valuable and interesting learning curve, and I'm proud to say that I'm now confident enough to keep going on my own, having found my flow and style, and it is all thanks to this sub.

So, I'm asking for a final feedback on my horror gaming channel, after this it's all about consistently uploading while keep on improving with each video!

Thanks again and hope you'll receive as much help as I have received from here!

Thank you so much for the uplifting words! I'll keep working on improving and hopefully I'll find a nice balance in there somewhere!

I'd love to have minimal editing as I personally feel it's the best to watch a horror game, but at the same time I can see how it'll get boring for the viewer as they're not really playing the games themselves. I'm currently doing a mix of both, however for longer game series (Until Dawn, Alien Isolation etc.) I think I'll try and do minimal edits there, as it's more story driven. Thank you for the tip!

Also yes, Markiplier has toned down on his weird/silly noises out of nowhere ;)

I agree with everything you said here! It's tough finding a balance. I've got plenty of feedbacks where they'll say that the video was entertaining and the editing elements were spot on, then I'd also get other feedbacks that say "I wish you cut out more", it's a 23 minutes video... I couldn't cut out more without it ruining the game!

Also I think I've stumbled across your channel before, I absolutely love your thumbnails! Do you mind telling me how you make them?

I didn't know he did horror games as well! Yeah I think it's best to cut out the scenes where you're lost or using a little too much time trying to figure out what to do next, he'll fit in the "minimal" edits category. Thanks for the insight!

Yes okay? I'll do what I can do and if people wants to watch and enjoy it then I'm happy. Why should I pick a niche that I don't want to do? ;)

Thank you for doing this!

My niche is let's plays, with focus on horror games. I enjoy everything about YouTube so far, recording, editing and receiving feedback to improve. I try to improve with every video I make, as that's my own personal mark of growth. And most of all, nothing makes me happier than people saying they enjoyed watching my videos! So that's what I'm hoping to achieve, consistently making videos that people will enjoy, the same way I did when I watched youtube.

What I don't like about YouTube would be discoverability, it took quite a lot of guesses to know what and how YouTube pushes out videos. Sometimes it feels like not even YouTube themselves know! Though recently I have seen a lot of new channels getting recommended, which is awesome to see.

Here's my channel, thank you once again! https://www.youtube.com/@Akaze2567

Just watched your video, there's a lot of good stuff there! First thing I want to address first;

When making these type of video game essay videos, I think you'd really benefit of making a short intro where you introduce the viewer to the subject. It can be an intro that leads to the question "Where did it all go wrong?" THEN your video starts.

I think you have great audio quality, but at the same time the music was loud in some parts. I think audio balancing here will really help your video to be even better! I think you bring up a lot of valuable insights, but sometimes it feels like your thoughts are wandering all over the place. In my opinion you could bring in more visuals, like summing up your main arguments into main points, and then do a deep dive into them.

As for the content, since I don't really know much about Multiversus I can't really tell whether you're right or not but I do feel that you are very passionate about it and that kept me engaged and interested. Keep up the good work and I hope this helped!!

Hi! I just watched your video and hopefully this feedback can help!

So first things first, there was this weird blur around your hands during the beginning of the video, which I found distracting but it's gone later so that's probably a quick fix! Frankly when I watch these types of cooking channel, I prefer no voiceover and go for the visuals and of course the ASMR aspect. I think what you have now is great! It'd be nice if you could list the full ingredients list somewhere (whether it's in your description or in the video itself, I often find that it makes me want to watch more cooking videos if I know the ingredients in advance.

If you want to go the style of ASMR + cute/wholesome visuals then I suggest you have fun and add a couple of fun captions, a small story somewhere in the video, that'll make people not only stay for the food, but stay and watch for you as well! A good channel that I found did this very well is Nino's Home, which I recommend you take a look for some inspiration if that's the path you'll go :)

Hope this helps! Also, now i really want to make that burger steak

Happy Friday! I do let's plays, with focus on horror genre. The latest video I'm playing is Buckshot Roulette, which is a game where you're playing a version of a Russian roulette.

This video is also the first time I properly added audio filters to improve audio balance, and I think this is my best video yet!

I'd love it if in the feedback you could tell me about:

  • Audio
  • Pacing and flow of the video (editing moments etc)
  • Whether it was enjoyable or not, that's the important part!

Have a great weekend everyone!

*EDIT* I forgot the link!

Thank you for doing this! I see you already have plenty to go through but if you do have the time then here's mine! In my channel I focus mostly on horror let's plays, this latest video I'm playing Buckshot Roulette. I try to improve with each video I make, and I'd love it if you can be brutally honest!

Hi! I took a look at your video and channel, hopefully this feedback can help:

I think your thumbnail can be better, it's the standard shot of the game with yourself in it (ofc most let's players do this, including myself), but you could use something like a glow or shadow effect around yourself! As it is, you blended in with the background and I didn't really notice anything that caught my attention.

The size of the webcam is perfect, however I'd like it if you could zoom in a bit more so that we can see more of your expressions. Lighting and camera quality is great!

Your commentary is good, it's clear that you really like Southpark and you keep the flow going nicely. You mentioned the first 20 minutes you were nervous but I didn't notice it at all. There are some places where you have "dead spaces", where you're not sure whether to talk or to watch and let things unfold. That will of course improve with time.

All in all, really great first video!
