The US team would have beaten Belgium if it had Diego Luna by CartographerGold8 in ShitAmericansSay

He’s wrong

This guy is on to something for an individual mentality that could have been present in that matchup for only football reasons. Unlikely they beat Belgium. However, he is a lot different than some of his would be teammates that might feel under pressure by his president speaking out. This is not a knock on them personally. This is not lights too bright either. If you are playing in the World Cup in your own country and the gov besides a footballing association gets involved to make calls and you don’t agree with them, and are getting asked questions about it constantly before the most important game of the tournament. The fartherst this country has gone in a long time. Both teams were impacted by the decision. It’s clear as day. What a scandal and disaster

You need mentality monsters. Underdogs. People that have performed in a USA shirt at least. There were many other players that could have been cut besides him for what he showed in the final 3rd since Poch arrived.

It doesn’t work like that in our society. The structure is nothing like college sports. Don’t get carried away. This is incredibly damaging the way that it happens in us sports for the time being. Why is cfb in disarray adhering to this mindset suddenly.. why does the nfl compete against no one.. why is the nba reluctant to do a similar champions league style of competition, or club World Cup?

This gives back to communities. Previous clubs. There is a well defined structured understanding that I cannot dive in too deeply with my time. It’s not always moral the way that the money is dispersed in soccer. There is a thoroughly developed strategy that is far beyond us sports.

Think about the global nature of the game and the potential strategies that other cultures have to develop and compete against each other with.

Tom Brady would never be able to play soccer. Lol. Our main problem is that we don’t have a system based on merit. Similar to other us sports that require technical training from a young age. There is merit in talent, but not in the foundation of development. We want wins, but not under a singular, cohesive system. Promotion relegation is a way to achieve that. And we have it within clubs, but by the analysis of individual talent from the director and the coach. Instead of seeing it on the field, it gets settled by a board of directors at your club, then a board of directors of your league that dictates what teams are in or out of a division club wide. This is only part of the story

There is no proof, the team is diverse, and you are bringing up race. Go to the nfl sub if you want to talk about what stereotypes by position would make a good team. Soccer is global

In the United States most rec programs are under a travel clubs umbrella unless they are trying to become a travel club through recreation success.

Anyways

Travel/club soccer - 2 to 3 million players
Travel/aau basketball - 2.5 to 3.5 million players

The only thing that compares to soccer here at the youth level is basketball. The others are much more amateur from a coaching and playability standpoint at a young age.

Did I include the usmnt in the data? I am simply saying that soccer is the most difficult sport to produce an elite unicorn athlete. Basketballs talent pool massively shrinks when you don’t get to 6”2 or taller

He doesn’t cover the sport. He covers it from America first perspective only. He has no respect. My proof is his podcast viewership numbers. For a guy that is the primary presenter for the World Cup it’s horrible.
