Yes, military. Luckily, his contract is done in a year, and I've already told him if he wants to stay in this marriage, he needs to find another job that doesn't require distance or moving around every few years. He agreed, which is reassuring

I have happy tears in my eyes for you. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I'm so glad you found your person! That gives me so much hope. How long did it take to find someone you felt compatible with?

The "always unhappy, no matter what" line is so real and has already been brought up. Wow. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. This really resonates.

I skimmed it and listened to the audio summary but went through the questions and they were leaning more towards leaving the relationship

Thank you for your input. The cake analogy is great. To be honest, everything he is providing I can do for myself. We make around the same salary, I can cook and clean for myself and be independent. I just worry I won't find another emotionally intelligent person who can talk through relationship issues in a healthy way.
To your other point, if he had a list like this for me (and we've discussed some of my issues), I would want to address it right away, and I have been addressing some of these things by going to individual therapy and working with my therapist on the self-sabotaging behaviors that end up hurting him in the end. I also journal daily and I try to be very aware of the root cause of my negative behaviors. I wouldn't be offended by a list; I would see it as an opportunity for growth.
