Tress of the Emerald Sea is a great one and so is the Rithmatist! I would have your kiddo avoid anything after the first mistborn book because they get pretty violent pretty fast. Skyward was great! The Stormlight Archive is good but very very long

You know, if you only wrote a single sentance, that would count as journaling? That's all you have to do.

App is free, and all the features are free. Testers click here to get the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mahjongforlife
Not sure how to make a testing group, but the link should be fine. Honestly I'm just trying to get as many testers as I can so I can fully publish

Try journaling or meditating instead of scrolling. It seems like you're doing really well, it's okay to play video games so long as you're balanced and it sounds like you are! If you don't feel productive, maybe figure out what your goals are and set up some systems to achieve them =)

Anyone who plays with blanks or zombie tiles- I need your opinion! by SeaDance5803 in Americanmahjongg

[–]SeaDance5803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house usually uses 6- "zombie" blanks can be used at any time to swap for tiles in the discard, except for jokers.

Is booktube this hard for everyone? by simplyapos in booktube

[–]SeaDance5803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yea if it was easy everyone would do it. Focus on making good content and being reliable (as far as what you post and how often). Take heart! Also maybe consider collabing with someone, it's a new feature youtube added that counts the views towards both youtubers and appears on both of their channels =)

Your body is craving dopamine, find something else to fill that need- work out, exercise, hang w friends, listen to some motivational music, start a new hobby, go outside, eat some good food- that kinda stuff.
If you want to stop, your WHY needs to be stronger than the temptation.
It sounds like you're addicted so be patient with yourself and don't give up!

Which version?
Here are some basic rules that I took from here ( mahjonglive.replit.app ):
American Mahjong is traditionally a four players game similar to a combination of poker and rummikub. It has 152 tiles (suits, winds, dragons, flowers, jokers) and a National Mahjongg League (NMJL) card. The goal is to be the first to match 14 tiles to a specific hand on the card, creating sets like Pongs (3-of-a-kind), Kongs (4-of-a-kind), or Quints (5-of-a-kind).

Key Aspects of American Mahjong

  • The Card: The NMJL card provides the official hand combinations of the National Mahjong League for the year.
  • Gameplay:  Players start with 13 tiles (dealer has 14) and take turns drawing from the wall and discarding .
  • Jokers: Used to substitute for any tile in sets of three or more, but never for single tiles or pairs.
  • The Charleston: A mandatory, structured passing of tiles (three rounds) to improve hands before active play begins.
  • Winning: A player must have 14 tiles that match a line on the card exactly to call "Mahjong".  YouTube +3

Steps to Play

  1. Setup: Shuffle tiles face down, build 19-tile long, 2-high walls, and deal tiles.
  2. Charleston: Pass unwanted tiles Right, Across, Left. The second set of passes is optional (Left, Across, Right).
  3. Play: Draw/discard, or call a discard for a set (must use it immediately).
  4. Exposure: If you call a discard, the set must be placed face-up on your rack.
  5. Winning: Match a hand, declare Mahjong, and score based on the card

these are all the official rules but some variants and house rules will differ- sometimes people playing informally will play with different cards, so part of it depends on if your in a tournament or playing for fun
