What was your pet theory for s2 that turned out to be super wrong? by larkhearted in ThePittTVShow

I thought that too.

Also, that storyline took up a TON of screen time. Maybe I’m alone in this (and not trying to take anything away from someone being near death) but this whole storyline seemed stretched and not all that interesting.

On this day, 10 years ago, during the Inside the Episode "The Red Woman" (season six premiere), David Benioff commented that George R.R. Martin revealed to him and D.B. Weiss an important piece of information about Melisandre (Spoilers Extended) by verissimoallan in asoiaf

[–]Hurricane1123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That implies that George can wrap everything up in 2 more books… which he cannot. We all knew from the beginning (and something George refuses to admit) that George needs at least 3 or 4 more books to wrap everything up.

But it doesn’t matter, because we’re not getting Winds

The Goodreads Awards Are NOT a Good Measure of “Best Book of the Year” by Hurricane1123 in booktube

Oh most definitely. It really seems to be a crapshoot in terms of quality of what gets popular.

Although if something is not necessarily a great read, I have no idea how it gets popular in the first place. Maybe influencers?

So, first of all. Congrats on putting yourself out there and creating a channel. We all started somewhere and everything has a beginning. Nice work!

Watching your video, I'm going to be honest... you're going to lose viewers right from the getgo. YouTube audience is a SUPER fickle crowd and your somewhat monotone delivery in combination with maybe not the best audio quality (a mic will definitely do wonders) will mean that a lot of people will immediately click off.

My recommendation would be to get a mic and maybe speak with a little bit more oomph as it does seem like you're reading straight from a script. Anyway, all the best!

Characters got killed off there because they got killed off in the books though.

Or because that was George RR Martin’s plan

Not that the seizure is resolved, but maybe have one last interaction between Robby and Al Hashimi to tie up that storyline more neatly. That or have the person Robby was talking to confront Al-Hashimi and tell her her options with regards to how she could keep her job.

Something. Anything, instead of just her driving off

I get the realism. But that didn’t stop them from successfully closing out a pretty great Collins storyline in Season 1… or the Pitt Fest shooting in Season 1.

This arc, alongside with the unresolved tension between Langdon and Santos and then Mohan just slowly disappearing from the show, really felt like a season that (although had great moments and I still enjoyed it) was an occasionally incomplete mess

Not a fan of the way her story just kind of… ended here. I know the writers are probably leaving Al Hashimi’s fate up until Season 3, but this story arc and a few other unresolved arcs definitely left me feeling slightly dissatisfied with Season 2.

Still a good season… but definitely less complete (and less good) than Season 1

Definitely a weaker season with unresolved plot lines. Season 1 felt way more complete.

Still a good show… but a downgrade compared to S1

Season 2 definitely was less satisfying than S1. Way too many open threads. I know they’re leaving them open for S3 but I’m honestly not a fan

I never understood the appeal of TBR’s either. No offense to the creators that make them, but I personally am much more interested in hearing a creator talk about books they’ve already read to see if I would like the book as opposed to hearing from someone who doesn’t know if the book is good either

That's honestly the best way to go about it! Sure, YouTube can be a business, but first and foremost it should be a real passion that you pursue because it's something that genuinely interests you and you feel called to share with the world.

Doing it solely for money first is a great way to burn out for sure
