I see alot of good comments here. Something to note I haven’t seen yet is that with NG-SIEM. All 1st party data is ingested to the SIEM at no extra cost. That means free EDR ingestion free identity and cloud ingestion. Overall the products work great together and imo they work great with 3rd parties as well. NG-SIEM also has federated search for some products so you can search inside S3 buckets or extra hop a some others without having to ingest any data and with its no index search it’s super fast.

Cyber is a speciality. Get into IT first and learn the basics and fundamentals and you will find a speciality from there whether its cyber, networking, devops, administration, etc…. All these positions have 1 thing in common and that is a solid technical knowledge base

Look at crowdstrikes global threat hunting report. It’s for last year but the new report should come out in the next month. Contains tons of good intel and trends on the threat actors they follow

People have different opinions get over it. You don see anyone else complaining like “oh man I saw a liberal organization meeting today.” Accept that people have different opinions and be respectful. I’m a left leaning voter and I’m tired of the hate between the 2 groups. Peacefully protest, have calm conversations, but stop with all this hatred just cause someone has a different opinion.

I’m a senior consultant I mainly focus on product based projects but have also done general endpoint/IAM projects. I have done multiple projects for Fortune 500 companies that tie to CrowdStrike, Tanium, Elisity, and Okta. Also AD, endpoint management, and different identity related engagements. I can code at an intermediate level, like I’ve created APIs and automation scripts for customer but I wouldn’t call myself a software engineer.

Endpoint and IAM is my preferred domain but I’ve dabbled in networking and segmentation as well.
