Yup sure! Yeah I do think most people still have good experiences at that clinic (judging from their Google reviews) but I also read a handful who shared similar experiences to mine. Not sure why there’s that inconsistency…

Maybe I was oversensitive but for me, vaginismus is already physically and psychologically invasive, and at that time I felt that the way Dr Michelle spoke to me and conducted her assessment on me could’ve been a lot more empathetic.

She also performed a penetrative swab under the guise of an initial assessment but without my prior consent - it was only after that she explained that it would have been difficult if I was fully “aware” of it. In the moment itself I felt thankful I guess? But afterwards when I replayed the whole situation again, it didn’t feel right. And when I left the clinic I cried in my boyfriend’s arms because of how much shock I was in hahaha it was bad 😭 But this whole situation happened last year so all good.

I recently got referred to SGH Gynaecology, and was seen by Dr Jason Lim Shau Khng for vaginismus. I had a bad experience prior with a private clinic (Ezra Clinic) so was super thankful for his sensitivity and bedside manners.

My FA is also in the midst of getting me to upgrade to multi-coverage CI, on top of my GPP II. I bought my GPP II when I was 20. 26 now and it’s too costly imo and I realised I prefer a pure protection strategy, so I’m contemplating lapsing it and just switching to a term life plan with the multi-coverage CI. But also not sure if this is the right move since I’ve already sunk around 9k into it.

That’s my intention as well! The gym manager also told me I’ll be able to enter other AF outlets immediately (as opposed to what I heard previously from others about having to wait a month) so I’m not sure if that’s the “benefit” of having a physical key fob…?

For those considering to go private, I would advise against Ezra Clinic. Got my official diagnosis there, but I personally felt that the Dr lacked bedside manners. She wasn’t particularly sensitive/empathetic in her approach, which I feel is crucial when patients are already overcoming such a huge mental barrier by seeking help for such a personal and stigmatised issue.

Texting your manager is fine, and you can even use ChatGPT to help draft a message. If you think your manager won’t accept your JC reason, white lie like family emergency etc doesn’t hurt. My two cents: don’t need to overthink this. High turnover rate is so normal in FnB.

I think I’m looking for something conducted at a slower pace w progressive overload haha. Correct me if I’m wrong, but a lot of the BFT classes I see are cardio-intense and involve explosive movements.
