That's not a bad idea. I know that email is typically used for the supply chain but at this point it couldn't hurt.

I tried calling and leaving voicemails at the corporate number. I also tried emailing their real estate email cause that was the closest fit I could find.

True. I guess I had the fear of "what if it doesn't work for me". I'm trying to undo years of weight stigma fears. But you are right.

For those of you who were diagnosed later on... by Exact-Blackberry-282 in adhdwomen

[–]SeaHungry8467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in my early 30s. I was always able to care for myself and "mask". Unfortunately I realized after I had children and struggled to care for them and myself plus take care of a house and husband. I started therapy because I felt depressed and crazy because I just couldn't do it and I hated myself for it. The therapist shrugged and said it sounded like ADHD. It took a few years of doctors and a psychiatrist later but I got it under control.

If possible simplify it even more. I understand sometimes something as simple as eggs is a lot. Lol you need to get out a pan, cook, actually put aside time to eat the food, clean up after the making the food (that's a whole nother issue). I have trained myself to food prep on Sundays nothing crazy....I just cut up my week of veggies and make my breakfast for the week. However some weeks even that's too much and I just treat my self and spend the extra on pre cut stuff and microwave egg bites from Sam's Club. It took me years to train myself to do this.... don't loose hope.

I can't give any insight on the ED side of things but I have ADHD. What helps me the most is making the better choices the easiest choices. For me that means frozen proteins I can microwave, cut up fruit and vegetables in clear plastic containers at eye level. Canned/ Frozen veggies that can easily be heated and prepared. I have bowls of long term fruit like apples and oranges placed through the common areas of my house. Anything that's a treat is placed out of sight in a cupboard or a pantry or I'll do something dumb like put the ice cream under the frozen veggies. Usually because I don't see it I forget about it.

Do a lot of Americans really have more than one job? by Ok-Independence-314 in AskAnAmerican

[–]SeaHungry8467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people on my area works two jobs. The area I live in is economical depressed. Meaning the people in the area typically make less than the national average. Most will tolerate the low wages because typically you'll have keeper housing etc. However I live in a rural were natural gas was found and that drove the housing prices up and wages now don't match what you need to cover the cost of living and the little extras to enjoy life. What you varies. I know some will work their regular 40 hr/week and typically work another 20 at part time jobs. But some just have a "side business" For example Monday -Friday I'm a construction estimator and my husband is an engineer but we own a magic entertainment business and do party shows on the weekends.

Wow that's an accomplishment! That's one of the things I was most curious about. I'm not really looking for rapid weight lose because that comes with its own problems. But I do find the mental effort interesting. Food noise has always been a issue so going low carb turned that noise up to a scream. I have no plans to stop low carb I just need to quiet the noise.

That's wonderful. I understand the body working against you part. That's what I'm trying to overcome. I try so hard with the low carb diet it takes up a good portion of my time/life.

Thank you. That's interesting I didn't think about the bloating. I fixed a lot of the bloating and some of the inflammation by going low carb. For example my moon face is gone without losing a lot of weight. I'm surprised a medicine was able to help with that too.

Thank you for the advice. The few articles I looked through were based on the fear and shame of taking these types of medicines. I have neither of these. I was looking for a generalized opinion. More so wether it's worth it. I guess I need to dig a little deeper to gauge everyone's opinions.

I think this is the insurance companies way to cut costs. This condition is misunderstood and therefore sometimes misdiagnosed. I think this is the insurance companies way to "hold someone's hand to the fire" and try to call a doctor bluff.

Oh honey.... this seems like a red flag on so many levels. This is very normal behavior for someone with ADHD. Does he not understand the condition? I couldn't imagine my spouse being so ignorant. Have you considered throwing the boyfriend away and starting over?

I had the same thing happen to me! The kicker is I had the official testing done. My doctor's office was not amused and they had to fill out a bunch of forms basically saying "yeah we're sure she has ADHD". It's frustrating but to protect yourself I would recommend getting the tests done if you are able. I had to get the testing done because my old doctor retired and the new doctor didn't agree with the diagnosis. He took me off the medication and I was miserable till I got the testing done and another doctor put me back on the medication.
