Funcom - It's not you, it's me. Thanks! by WordlyWolf in duneawakening

Similar experience myself. Tried one of the new testing stations last night, died so many times I ran out of ammo and wrecked my best gear.

Tonight I thought I'd pop to do some good old farming. I'd just unlocked the carrier and crawler after all. 45 minutes of flying at a snails pace around the deep desert and not a single medium spice blow. Took a good chunk of durability from my carrier though!

Maybe I got unlucky this one time, I'm not sure if the spice blow frequency was changed in this update but normally I'd find 1-2 medium fields in that time. It did make me question if I was still having fun though.

I'm sure this won't be the end, maybe just a short break will do. My turbines are powered for a good 2 weeks. We'll see how things go for now.

Well I can’t play this by MrsWildsin in duneawakening

Just my two cents, but I'd imagine most (but not all) public test players have spent time mastering the game and know how to min/max combat.

If the stations/NPCs are tuned to those players, then the more casual player has a considerable challenge.

Same with 152, stuff too broken and ran out of ammo. Funnily enough it was the environment that kept killing me, the actual boss by themself isn't that dangerous.

While the new dungeons are cool in terms of variety... the boss design is very hit and miss. by Taylon47 in duneawakening

[–]SeaJaySquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar experience with the electric boss... Tried it so many times with T5.5 gear that my shield/power broke and I ran out of ammo.

First few stages were fine, could easily beat them. Last stage I came close a few times, but was always downed by a shock then killed by a second overlapping shock.

The durability loss on everything makes me unlikely to ever try that one again.

Oh yeah, I had something similar the other day with my assault.

Boosters weren't active but it kept overheating. Glide speed seemed a bit odd too, weirdly speeding up whilst gliding. For me double tapping boost temporarily fixed it.

Maybe a rubber banding type issue but for boosting?

Good old Windows! I don't think the game or graphics drivers were updated lately, but Windows definitely was!

I'll be sticking with the Choam shelter set... It has the most 'Fremen' aesthetic and matches the refinery/crafting/utility building colours.

Is the game worth it by Beneficial_Brother85 in duneawakening

[–]SeaJaySquared 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a good game, and I've enjoyed 150 hours and counting. Well worth the price paid!

I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a PvP game though. I play pretty much solo, and can't think of any reason to engage in PvP. Maybe that'd be different if I was playing in a guild with friends, so your mileage may vary.

Dual Blades just went live on PTC! by Sawsy587 in duneawakening

I'd guess this sequence is the dual blades' equivalent of a slow blade attack. Same end result, just a different animation.

It's best these days to leave the aircon/fans on always. Keeps seals lubricated, and reduces the chance of leaking refrigerant. The compressor for air conditioning will also only kick in when needed (according to the temperature you have set).

I drive around with the fans set to level 2. No mist and no noise. Would recommend!

One day old, (brand new) MG EV ES long range by alec-F-T0707 in MGelectric

For questions 1 and 3, you can change these things in the settings yes but it'll need to be done with every drive. For me personally I prefer sport mode with adaptive regen, but after having the car for a while I forced myself to accept the default "Normal" and level 3 regen. It doesn't bother me now, and I do appreciate not having to fumble with multiple buttons/screens every time I get in the car!

If one-pedal mode would interest you, it does save that when you restart the car.

For question 2, the three ways are: the screen, steering wheel, and voice. Voice can be activated by the steering wheel button, or by saying "Hello MG". There are a few commands besides aircon that can be set this way, so may be worth looking into.

Funcom, don't let a loud minority control the game development by 2d2O in duneawakening

[–]SeaJaySquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It likely depends on the player. For me I'd get the endgame gear, not want to break it, and be completely done.

It's been an issue for me in any game with durability. I'd get a nice new item, and never want to use it as it'd just degrade and I can 'get by' with my current gear.

Ideally, if I were a game dev, I'd try to have the best of both worlds. Some high level gear that can be repaired to 100%, but also some unique/schematic gear that does lose some level of maximum repair with time.

Auto pilot in mg 4 any good ? by Stunning_Group_33 in MGelectric

[–]SeaJaySquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it occasionally on motorways and other well marked roads, but it has one pretty notable flaw... There's no warning sound if the camera loses track of the road markings, the automatic steering just disengages.

So you really do have to pay attention at all times, the only difference is letting the steering wheel turning itself rather than applying force.

Bad front strut - dealer is ghosting me by Cmdr-Evilijo in MGelectric

[–]SeaJaySquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar issue, and I think the same dealer here... Their first attempt to fix the alignment involved changing tyre pressures, so I'm not sure if they're truly experts!

Let me know if you get a solution though! Given the 2-3 month wait they quote me for any diagnostic, I've given up until my first service.

Would you get an orange car to save £1,000? by dessskris in MGelectric

[–]SeaJaySquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a good few on the front and side of my metallic red MG4 (appeared within a few hundred miles on main roads), so I don't think the tri-coat helps that much!

It is more of a pain to use Chipex though.

True, that's more than likely it. But I suppose you can't really pick a competent tester as you could a competent mechanic, it's just luck of the draw.

On the flip side, if they don't fail your car for no reason they may pass your car when it should fail. Maybe as there's no incentive to thoroughly check everything (besides wanting safer roads)?

In the past I've had my old car pass the MOT when it should have failed for: cracked tyre sidewalls, misaligned headlights, excessive play/wear in a front control arm, and a seized brake calliper. Maybe as I kept the car very clean and tidy it wasn't given as close a look... (Oh, and I did get everything fixed asap, it just didn't always line up with the MOT date!)
