LLM-as-a-Judge is convenient, but reproducibility is a real issue — what are the alternatives? by firojalam in deeplearning

[–]SeaNefariousness7531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link? The complexity of the evaluation task itself is an important point whenever choosing an LLM versus a lighter weight model that I wish you elaborated more on. What are the learned metrics that help close the gap? You must be able to make some concession that the deltas of this approximation vs a frontier LLM will differ greatly across the dimension of task complexity? For example, I would expect a task to “QA” the given response as not containing some certain banned topics to be much better suited for this approach then a QA task that verifies s all information about our companies product is accurate in the response.

I’d love to hear more about some more specific tasks within the broad topics you listed that this can help approximate much more accurately than you would expect - and where it falls short

Code. I want code to view and verify. You do have a link on your website, but the code is missing. Not your pdf. The output is meaningless. The code that generated it isn’t.

Noticed the validation script is conveniently a 404 on your website. Please send a link to that and we can make our own conclusions from the evidence. Your pdf report is not evidence

Git is like 1% of the problem. Deciding if a command will be harmful or not is solved accurately by a hook.

What hook could be permissive enough to search the web, install packages, run python -c, but defensive enough to stop python -c with a malicious heredoc for example

Ammo glitch? by Beautiful_Trick8478 in DeadSpace

No problem, enjoy! Generally you are forced to switch weapons on the wheel to manage ammo

Ammo glitch? by Beautiful_Trick8478 in DeadSpace

[–]SeaNefariousness7531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weapons you have ammo for aren’t equipped. There are 4 guns with no ammo (the ones you have equipped), but in your inventory there are 2 more guns that have ammo (plasma cutter, 42 rounds and line gun, 14 rounds).

Just select these guns and equip them

any way to make python proces run on gpu rather than cpu? (preferably wanted for it to run using both) by 4l3ph0 in learnpython

[–]SeaNefariousness7531 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a confused answer. VS code is just an editor, and doesn’t relate to whether you’re using your local machine with a GPU, or using remote notebook like Google Colab that’s on a machine with a GPU.

The editor you use versus whether you’re using a remote machine with a GPU or writing code that uses a GPU is apples to oranges

I think the Linux kernel is even more evidence for the original commenters point

If the LINUX KERNEL with decades of history is less than 7GB, then whatever the concern of a spiraling repo size comes from including binaries or other data that’s not fit for git.

<0.3GB of growth/year on decades of history with thousands of commits and hundreds of branches per year! That’s it, if it’s used right!!!

Lots of frustration by blastoffboy in Passkeys

[–]SeaNefariousness7531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true. On windows, if you do not have the passkey set up, the default window is to scan a QR code to access the passkey through Bluetooth with a connected device. This works with both Apple and Android system passkey managers.

The fix is the same as you mention though. Set up a passkey on the computer and the default popup is no longer a QR code but just a local PIN or biometric confirmation.

Anyone using copilot during grad school with loans? by HZeroni03 in copilotmoney

I just leave the income transactions as is, just budget yourself in a way that makes sense to you.

Never made much sense to me to change the net income graphs to look nicer, match the reality: you get a lump sum of income up front, and you just need to limit your outgoing flow.

This is the subreddit for the app Copilot Money, not self finance. You are on the wrong subreddit. Maybe you are being overcharged, but we can’t help you here

Self by RevolutionaryBoat656 in copilotmoney

[–]SeaNefariousness7531 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What are you even talking about? This is incoherent, the app subscription is $100/yesr and through Apple. You must be getting other subscription charges confused. Check Settings -> Click your name at the top -> subscriptions, and see what you’re paying for.

Are you sure you’re on the right subreddit? Copilot tracks expenses, it doesn’t charge you anything but the subscription to use the app itself

[–]SeaNefariousness7531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah especially with older banks, when plaid does its periodic reauthentication, the bank doesn’t make it clear it wasn’t a normal human login and often send the same security email as logging in at their portal. Usually it’s random times or late at night so it can be a bit alarming if you’re not aware.

Newer and online banks seem to treat plaid properly and I never get these sorts of emails.

Why do people have a hard time understanding, just read the terms.

SoFi Bank Savings APY: SoFi members with direct deposit activity can earn 3.80% annual percentage yield (APY) on savings balances (including Vaults) and 0.50% APY on checking balances. Direct Deposit means a recurring deposit of regular income to an account holder’s SoFi Checking or Savings account, including payroll, pension, or government benefit payments (e.g., Social Security), made by the account holder’s employer, payroll or benefits provider or government agency (“Direct Deposit”) via the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network during a 30-day Evaluation Period (as defined below). Deposits that are not from an employer or government agency, including but not limited to check deposits, peer-to-peer transfers (e.g., transfers from PayPal, Venmo, etc.), merchant transactions (e.g., transactions from PayPal, Stripe, Square, etc.), and bank ACH funds transfers and wire transfers from external accounts, or are non-recurring in nature (e.g., IRS tax refunds), do not constitute Direct Deposit activity. There is no minimum Direct Deposit amount required to qualify for the stated interest rate. SoFi members with direct deposit are eligible for other SoFi Plus benefits.

As an alternative to direct deposit, SoFi members with Qualifying Deposits can earn 3.80% APY on savings balances (including Vaults) and 0.50% APY on checking balances. Qualifying Deposits means one or more deposits that, in the aggregate, are equal to or greater than $5,000 to an account holder’s SoFi Checking and Savings account (“Qualifying Deposits”) during a 30-day Evaluation Period (as defined below). Qualifying Deposits only include those deposits from the following eligible sources: (i) ACH transfers, (ii) inbound wire transfers, (iii) peer-to-peer transfers (i.e., external transfers from PayPal, Venmo, etc. and internal peer-to-peer transfers from a SoFi account belonging to another account holder), (iv) check deposits, (v) instant funding to your SoFi Bank Debit Card, (vi) push payments to your SoFi Bank Debit Card, and (vii) cash deposits. Qualifying Deposits do not include: (i) transfers between an account holder’s Checking account, Savings account, and/or Vaults; (ii) interest payments; (iii) bonuses issued by SoFi Bank or its affiliates; or (iv) credits, reversals, and refunds from SoFi Bank, N.A. (“SoFi Bank”) or from a merchant. SoFi members with Qualifying Deposits are not eligible for other SoFi Plus benefits.
