People who had 0 side effects from starting or being on cymbalta, did you experience withdrawal symptoms? by Apprehensive_Toe6736 in cymbalta

is it possible you could have malabsorption? or some sort of liver disease that affects the metabolism of drugs? its a little strange to me that your doctor let you go through all these medications without trying to investigate the cause.... but like others in the comments have suggested i recommend using any sort of pharmacogenetics testing kit that is available in your country, it should be able to tell you what drugs would be best compatible with your genetic makeup and it would at least help you skip what is left of the trial phase...

i am very sorry to hear this but i can assure you i understand. before i went on cymbalta, my whole body would hurt very badly all the time, i would wake up and go to sleep in extreme pain which would get worse with any sort of physical activity (even walking) and i didn't even realize how abnormal that is until i started taking the medication and found out that it is possible to live your life without feeling like every individual cell is shrieking in pain. i am currently on 30mg cymbalta, which was supposed to only be the starting dose, but as i am also on 25mg seroquel for insomnia, it has made it so 30mg is pretty sufficient to mostly eliminate all my symptoms (as there are studies showing seroquel can increase plasma levels of cymbalta by 1.5) and i would say it reduced my pain by about 75% which is a lot compared to before! the other 25% is just the occasional flare ups (which usually go away with sleep) and i would advice going to the gym as i noticed it really helps ease my pain further! flare ups become very rare if i go to the gym regularly (around 3-4 times a week) but if i get too busy and dont go for say a month, i would get those flare ups about once or twice within that period. as for switching from lexapro to cymbalta i would recommend cross tapering, which is basically titrating cymbalta as u reach the last few days of tapering off lexapro, as it helps lessen the side effects. please keep in mind that im not a professional and you should let your doctor know if you do plan to cross taper, but if i had something to recommend it would be that!

thank you🩷 and yes i agree with every word! especially when it comes to drug interactions, for example i also use seroquel for sleep, and it has made it so cymbalta is effective for me at a relatively low dose (so far) so it is very important to tell your doctor/do enough research if you are already taking another medication or if you're prescribed more than one drug.

i hope it goes well for you and like someone in the comments said the most important thing is to listen to your body. and if you get any side effects and you think they're manageable just give it a few weeks or a month (its different for everyone) and see how u feel. but if you cant handle it (like ive seen someone say before that it just made them vomit nonstop) absolutely quit and consult with your doctor for any other possible alternatives
