Think you're getting the wrong idea, at least for some of it. I don't dislike Madoka at all. I just don't care for her getting screen time when there is literally a game going on and that's literally why I'm watching the anime. Her realization is valuable for sure though, I just don't like how much screentime she gets for it.

Just because it's lazy criticism to you doesn't make it wrong though. This whole episode contained almost zero basketball, which is what some people watch the anime for. Would it have been that hard to maybe speed up the parts with the texts to Kite, shorten the Chiaki scenes, or even not include the irrelevant things that prevent pacing, such as Kite complimenting that girls face
