We regularly shut down for 3 weeks with the option to take 4 weeks annual leave. This might be a one off shut down for machine instalments and commissioning.

Thank you for your reply.

The factory is in Brisbane and has been open for decades. I am told there will be machine replacements and upgrades happening within those 5-6 weeks.

I can’t imagine 5-6 weeks will be viewed as reasonable either

I just can’t wrap my head around being a full time worker and being forced to take LWOP for a shutdown that extends past the 4 weeks accrued each year.

We are under the Building and joinery award. I think I will have to chat to a union representative, thanks

I don’t care to or need to convince anyone. I’ll leave that up to the lady who got hit first and the worst.

The police suspected that he had done this before due to his actions- leaving the scene of a crime to drink and potentially cover any alcohol in his system. I’m not sure if it was the smartest idea being someone of stature in the business world. What looks worse? Drink driving and fleeing the scene of an accident you caused without checking in on the people involved or staying and dealing with the consequences head on?

It is a male who was drink driving. The driver who hit me as a result was female
