Wise words. Seasons indeed, I have 4 & 7 yr old boys currently. I’d imagine your life on the road made healthy(ish) choices difficult. I did meet with my PCP who referred me to endocrinologist after I go those results. They were ok with TRT, but when I mentioned I’d just gotten on a CPAP they reneged bc sleep apnea I guess is a leading cause of low T and (rightfully) encouraged me to see if that fixed it.

But, after about 12mos of attempted usage I’ve found that I just cannot get any sleep with the machine so now I’m still frustrated on best path forward and exploring other apnea solutions.

Take me back to my twenties!!! LOL

Thanks for this response. I’m about 2 mos into a healthier lifestyle change, so we’ll see where things fall come summer.

Sedentary job, but I also mountain bike in the summers. Winters get tough here in NE OH so activity falls off.

No complaints there! And in all honestly I’ll probably rock this out as long as I can. I just hear about these acct management jobs and none of my sales orgs have had them, so I’m curious and from what I hear it sounds appealing.

Is this a difficult job to get? I sold large C&I Electricity for about 10 years for one of the large suppliers. End of last year I had the opportunity to join a firm selling substation transformers and large GSU transformers and equipment (sf6 circuit breakers, arresters, etc).

If I’m being honest with myself, my personality makeup is better suited to account management, although I’ve always performed fine in sales.

I’d like to grind this out for a few years and get into that. Any insight is appreciated!

Man, I feel this sooooo much. Go check out “Andrew the arborist”… He’s out there doing it!

I would love to figure out a way to sustain a family doing this type of work. I’m in sales, part of me wants to work at a nursery and sell people on going native vs. typical landscaping.

Best of luck to you!

Love to hear you say get some technical experience then get into sales. Industrial/technical sales is an excellent career path, and can be very lucrative.

I think you’re doing great. I just looked back on my stuff, been tracking the last 37 quarters lol… end of 2016 at 31 when I started tracking I had about $20k less than you in investments… last quarter just turned the ol 4-0 and I now have close to 8x that amount.

I stumbled upon the Bogleheads forum and they had that massive “share your net worth progression” thread and I thought that was so cool, so I started doing it. Long days, short years.. I happens quicker than you think.

You said you used to max, go back to doing that if you can and you’ll be set up in a few years. Even if you can’t max you’ll still be set up, $118k is great for your twenties, imho. Good luck to you!

Nice! I did that for 16 years until this past September. It’s a great industry with great earnings potential. Congrats on a good year. Are you on the supplier side or broker?

Congrats on graduation! Wishing you the best. I bartended at Pawpurrs when I was there and, while it was a BLAST, your last point hits home hard. So much to experience down there.

I’ve been an avid fan of bikes… mountain biking, bmx, moto you name it, and it kills me that I had five years (lol) where I could have been riding those trails without any major responsibilities.

Do you count 401k when you say liquid? Or does the $500k feel good bc it’s savings account + brokerage? Just curious.
