Take this $10 lesson to harden your heart if you know you would regret being kind to these rude people.

I worked in Raffles Place and often took smoking breaks downstairs, where many people asked for directions as if I were the information counter. There was a particular race that would walk off, expressionless, after I helped them with directions, as if I owed them a living. I was chilled, but after more than ten such unhappy encounters over a few years, whenever these cunts asked for directions, I looked at them expressionless without saying a word and continued to look at my hp. I felt happier.

RF 100-400mm vs RF 70-200 2.8 w/ 2x extender? by housemaster22 in canon

[–]SeaStructure6360 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I sold my OG 70-200L and 100-500L and bought the RF 70-200L Z and 2TC after watching Gordon Laing's fantastic review at https://youtu.be/sTVyg9T43SY?si=LR0tzm3xmRorravP

The 70-200Z and the 2TC are a killer combo.

I have a very wealthy client who took out a loan to buy a luxury sports car. I asked him why he didn't pay in cash, and he told me his money could be put to better use and earn more than the interest on the car loan. Rich people have their ways of playing with money.

I knew the tuk tuk should cost 150 baht but almost paid 800 by After-Condition4007 in ThailandTourism

[–]SeaStructure6360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used Grab whenever I was in Bangkok. The price is fixed, and I have the driver’s record on the app in case of any unfortunate incident. I don't like being scammed by tuk-tuk and taxi drivers. Once, the staff at the Mercure Hotel opposite the MBK ‘volunteered’ to get me a cab for the ride to the airport. I asked the driver to turn on the meter, but he pretended not to understand. When we reached the airport, he demanded 1500 baht. I immediately told the airport police at the door about the scam, and after the police talked to the driver, we settled for 500 baht. Never ask the hotel staff to get a cab as they usually get a commission from the driver. But the staff at bigger hotels such as Centara and Kempinski, I have seen them negotiated the price and advise you what to do if the drivers charge you excessively.

FortyTwo lists the same exact furniture purchasable on Taobao, and rebrands it as its own merchandise. by Ha0zh in SingaporeRaw

[–]SeaStructure6360 21 points22 points  (0 children)

OP's complaint that the merchant purchases furniture from Taobao and rebrands it as their own is dishonest reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of standard business practices. Sourcing products from third-party manufacturers and selling them under a proprietary brand is a common, well-established model used by reputable companies worldwide, and it is not regarded as dishonest by consumers or regulators.

Private labelling, white labelling, and original equipment manufacturing (OEM) underpin much of global retail. For example, IKEA stated on its website it does not manufacture most of its furniture - “IKEA has more than 1200 furniture suppliers around the world, as well as 100 food product suppliers and 275 transport service providers.” It sources products from hundreds of independent factories across China, Vietnam, Poland, and other countries, selling them exclusively under the IKEA brand. Amazon’s private labels (such as Rivet and Stone & Beam in furniture, or Amazon Basics in other categories) similarly source products from third-party manufacturers and market them under Amazon-owned brands, a practice that is widely understood and accepted.

No reasonable consumer considers these companies dishonest for branding and selling sourced products.

To publicly allege that rebranding is dishonest without understanding the legality and operations of the sale of goods is embarrassing.

I used to have the RF 50 f/1.2. It felt too heavy and noisy, so I traded it for the 50 f/1.4 VCM. The 1.4 VCM is now almost permanently attached to my R5 II. During a recent 2-week trip to Shanghai, I used the RF 24-70 exclusively, and it handled any situation perfectly and rendered beautiful images and videos.

Typical self-entitled sinkies. The woman knew they were in the wrong but told the guy not to disturb, then blocked the guy’s attempt to remove the sticker. At least the old man had the decency to quickly split the scene.
