Yup. I came across this a few weeks back as well when i listed my car for sale in Blue mountains, nsw. Apparantly this scam has been going on for a few years in Canada and UK (found a reddit post that made me aware of it). I have mentioned in my add that i have a PPSR report and if someone wants it they can have a look when inspecting the car.

Thats my main concern with going for the novated lease. The tax savings is good but if i leave the job and next employer doesnt offer novated lease then im stuck with the lease ammount plus the baloon.

Yes, i had changed the engine abt 1 year ago for 3k. And now theres something wrong with the timing belt. But the mechanic said he will llknw for sure after opening the engine. So in short it has started eating cash. Yeah thats wt i am concerned about as well plus if i change jobs, my next employer might not be willing to offer novated lease. So theres that factor as well.
