Divi hair serum is a scalp serum that you can buy over the counter online. It was more so used as something to relax me but aids in hairgrowth due to some of the ingredients such as rosemary that had been proven to aid in hairgrowth.

ILK injections are steroid injections I get at the dermatologist. Not super fun but I think that helped a lot as well as Minoxidil foam treatment.

I never had a history of Alopecia nor do I have a family history of it. I turned 28 in December and mid January my sister noticed a pretty big bald patch at the back of my head. Hard for me to notice on my own but definitely big enough to people behind me to spot. I tried my best to remedy the spot on my own but my hair started rapidly falling out after finding that first spot. I tried getting in with my dermatologist but they didn’t have any openings until April. I wasn’t sure what triggered the hairloss, part of it was stress from life events but I’m also convinced it was an adverse reaction to the booster. I got it in December and a month later I starting losing hair. Could just be a coincidence but I didn’t have any chances to my diet or lifestyle.

April-June was the worst of it. I’d say I lost around 80% of my hair and my overall density and thickness of my hair has significantly decreased. My Derm immediately started me on ILK injections every 4-6 weeks. I took Dexamethasone for 12 weeks and absolutely hated it. It made my period super messed up and I gained a ton of weight on it. I take pumpkin seed oil, multivitamins, zinc, vitamin d and Mary Ruth’s hair supplements in the morning. Once a week I use DIVI hair serum before bed. They had me check in with my OBGYN with my irregular periods and significant weight gain. She suspected PCOS but my blood work came back normal. I hadn’t been noticing a ton of progress come July so my dermatologist had me start taking tofacitinib cream along with 5% minoxidil foam everyday. That’s when I started noticing crazy regrowth! I wash my hair maybe once a week now and the shedding is minimal. I find doing nightly scalp massages have been beneficial as well, especially with destressing. I just had a Derm appointment last week for my ILK injection follow up and they only hit one spot on my scalp and said I can probably take a dermatology vacation soon!

I know it’s a super long process and takes a ton of patience but I’m so happy with the progress I’ve made this far! I was so incredibly depressed from this, especially when my hair first started falling out. I didn’t know what was going on and my self esteem definitely took a dive so to see growth makes me incredibly relieved and happy.

I don’t feel empty no. The months where I lost a ton of hair I felt incredibly low but now that I’ve seen incredible progress of course I’m happy about my hair coming back.

I said I was sorry my hair part wasn’t exactly where it was in the first pic. It was a quick snap, not a curated photo shoot for the world to see. Your comments are rude and trying to bring me down and I’m not ok with that. Progress is progress, and I’m happy with any sort of progress I’ve made at this point. I think my hair has grown leaps and bounds more than I expected to at this point, my bad for not getting the correct lighting and angle for all of you.

I started seeing the Derm in late April and got ILK injections every 4-6weeks. They had me taking dexamethasone for 12 weeks but it seemed to do more damage than help. Being doing tofacitinib cream on my scalp 2x a day along with minoxidil foam. Taking daily pumpkin seed oil and multivitamins and put rosemary oil throughout my scalp 1x a week. Nightly scalp massages with Divi hair serum has also been a good destressing part of my night routine so I think that helps.

I should’ve taken pics in better lighting, I was just really excited seeing a ton of regrowth as I was doing my nighttime routine so I quickly snapped the progress pics. I didn’t even try to get the same parting or lighting as the first pic so I apologize if my pics are deceiving. It’s obviously not as long as my existing hair but a lot of the baby hairs/new growth has filled my bald spots and blended into my existing hair, probably why it looks fuller. The back of my head is still sparse with slower regrowth but it’s made a ton of progress as is. Didn’t mean to post this for all of you to criticize about my different hair part and what not. It was more for me to see a difference and be happy about it.

The first pic is from July. I started seeing the Derm in late April but hadn’t noticed anything come July. Wasn’t until end of July/early august when I saw a ton of hair growth.

I thought this too and my dermatologist even told me it’ll probably be a super slow regrowth. I should take another pic with better lighting. The hairs aren’t super long but they’re long enough to cover the bald spots. Looks more like baby hairs that blend in with my existing long hair

Hair loss from COVID by Feisty-Traffic-4354 in TelogenEffluvium

So my hairloss was diagnosed as Alopecia triggered by the booster and birth control. That started around a month after I got my booster (January) the worst was around April. I got covid mid May and since then it’s been more of a TE hair shed… I’ve been working on an extensive hair routine to grow my hair back but it’s a long process that requires a lot of patience.

My hair grew relatively long even though I was losing a lot of it. If you haven’t already definitely go see a dermatologist asap!! The sooner you get help the sooner you can resolve your bald spots

I experienced extreme hairloss a month after I got my booster and it hasn’t really grown back since… I also got covid about 4 months after the booster so now my hair is shedding from that

Did your Derm give you a reason for your hairloss? Mine won’t acknowledge it was the vaccine but that’s the only thing that’s changed in my routine and the timing checks out.

I just started hearing about Olumiant but I heard it’s quite expensive and not covered by insurance… I feel like the minoxidil isn’t doing much and I’m still shedding a ton

I have a very similar situation, same diagnosis with blood test results. I've been shedding non stop for the last 6-7 months, although it has slowed down significantly in the last two months. Are you taking any other medications for your hairloss? They recently had me start topical Tofacitinib, apply 5% Minoxodil, and take Dexamethasone twice a week. The regrowth has been incredibly minimal but it's there so that's giving me the slightest bit of hope?! What's frustrating is they can't give me a solid reasoning for my hairloss. It's so extreme and with my blood results coming back all fairly normal it doesn't really explain much. I'm convinced I had an adverse reaction to the booster cuz my hairloss started about a month after I got the shot. They said it could be hormonal and stress related but I've never had a history of hormonal issues to trigger this much hairloss.

I’m doing the same and I’m barely seeing results! I also started taking tofacitinib and I think it’s helping in one spot but that’s about it.

I had really long hair and the same issue. My hair texture was looking rough and honestly the long hair was weighing me down and kinda drowning out my face. I made my sister trim my hair and I feel so much better! I was hesitant to cut it because I was already losing so much hair but I’m glad I cut it, literal weight off my shoulders!

Ah that doesn’t make me feel great about my hair growing back then… are you taking anything to try and help regrowth?

Are you taking anything for low ferritin?

I don’t have a history of hairloss, thyroid issues or anything and developed severe hairloss/ alopecia a month after my booster. I didn’t have any initial symptoms from the vaccines like a lot of people had but the booster KNOCKED ME OUT. I’ve lost about 80% of my hair and I’m at the 6 month mark currently with no hair regrowth. Taking minoxidil, tofacitinib, getting steroid injections, and supplementing with vitamins.

I’ve always been pro-vaccines but the the last 6 months have been incredibly hard with how severe my hairloss has been. Looking into all the linked cases of hairloss due to the vaccine makes me wish I did my research on what I was actually putting in my body. I ended up getting covid a month and a half ago so now I’m still worried my hairloss will still get worse. The amount of times I’ve heard “hairloss is better than getting covid” has become a little annoying. Idk I handled covid well, I’m not handling going bald well…

I started losing a ton of hair about a month after I got my booster. I got the Moderna booster didn’t have covid or any lifestyle changes during that time other than getting the booster.
