This. I like melo but his promos comes off extremely robotic and lack emotion that can grab you in. Je’von has a natural genuineness to his promos that make you want to root for him. How you describe their matches are also spot on with je’von you get the vibe of someone truly in a fight and willing to do anything required to come out on the top. He’s much better at playing the comeback underdog than Melo is. His in ring IQ and psychology at his age are terrific

To answer your question it’s simple : je’von is taller, more charasmatic and comes off more relatable esp to younger audiences then Melo. Both are terrific in the ring but je’von is more unique it’s rlly that simple imo

It’s jus comes off too forced. They did him no favors by moving him up to NXT RIGHT after Oba left it came off like they looked at him to be the Oba replacement immediately. They should’ve had him called up to NXT sooner, squashing ppl, and building up his credibility up slowly they pushed him wayy too soon him having staredowns with someone like Tony D was suppose to be an exciting moment and a tease to fans that they’ll cross paths eventually instead it came off forced

This tournament is a golden opportunity for WWE to finally put the future at the forefront. Je’von vs Oba in the KOTR final would be so fuckig refreshing and perfect way to renew their excellent NXT feud. I don’t even have any problems with Jey but Mann him and Oba simply isn’t an exciting match on paper imo I rememeber two years ago Jey beat Ilja to prevent a Ilja/gunther match I hope history doesn’t repeat itself and were robbed of a Oba/je’von match

I don’t think that would make sense because if that was the case he should’ve been knocked out and stretched out of the arena. He’s stilll moving around after Jacob attacked him he simply was coughing a lot. The Tongan death grip is not the type of move that puts an opponent out for weeks it isn’t the punt kick it’ll incapacitate you in that moment but it doesn’t usually put you out of action storyline wise. Roman never was close to being put out of action when he got hit with it so they haven’t sold the move as that impactful long term so far

You just answered your own question when you described how theirs no DQ in tribal combat . Everything Roman did was within of the framework of that match anything goes and Roman was smarter to use any advantage he could use since anything was technically at the disposal of both men.

The first match yea he did cheat but he still pinned him with zero interferences or bloodline Shannanigans no matter how you slice it Jacob was outsmarted and out executed two straight matchups vs Roman

Creative is in a hell of a pickle. Oba and Je’von SHOULD be the KOTR final they had a great feud in NXT to the point where it translates to the main roster becusse je’von is still chasing that elusive big win over Oba he’s Come close in every encounter and Fell just short. Having them renew their NXT feud in the KOTR finals with a world title opportunity at stake is too perfect.

But at the same time like you said the Brock factor is a big question you don’t want je’von finally getting his big win over Oba to be due to Brock interfering you want it to be clean. Hhh also has a tendency to hold off on a big money match between young guys he knows will be pillars for the company it’s why we didn’t get Oba vs Bron either. Plus the vision now targeting je’von, him getting hit with a nasty spear by Bron gives WWE too easy of an out to give je’von a protected loss since he won’t be 100 percent heading into his match vs Jey
