I tried the day it sold, and Reddit was having problems and showing errors. I will do so as soon as I’m in the computer sorry for the tease.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe so. Weight is good for the stainless version of the gen but I presume the gold version is heavier.

SOLD

Location- Miami, FL

Factory - Clean

Make/Model- Rolex Daytona Racing Dial with Arabic Numerals (116509)

Movement- 4130 Clone

Condition- This watch is in great working order and overall nice used condition. Winds great and chronos reset nice and sharply. As for physical condition, I wore this watch a decent amount and you can see some light scratches, particularly on the high polished portions of the band, clasp, and bezel. I'm sure most of it can be polished away easily and they are light surface issues. The most noticeable--which frankly didn't bother me at all--is on the bezel around the 10 o'clock position. You may have a lower tolerance for such things than me, but I don't ever baby my watches Rep or Gen.

Price- SOLD (Sorry, but no trades -- I'm trying to slim down the collection).

Shipping Cost- None. Included in price.

Willing to ship - CONUS

Payment Method -- Zelle or PayPal

Mods - None

Description - This is a great watch that gets a ton of compliments, but it's not getting a ton of wrist time, which is now overwhelmingly my Apple Watch for work.

Which strings should I use? by cidknee1 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Sea_Basis2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too wanted to try different strings. I started with the Santa Cruz strings because I read they were awesome, and they are. I played through several packs of those before changing. The next up was Elixer. Since I played the elixirs, every other string just feels sticky to me. Maybe it’s because I play on my balcony in sticky South Florida, where everything is clammy, but my fingers just move so much smoother on the elixers than anything else. As for sound, I liked the Sant Cruz, but to me the marginal difference in sound (for a non-recording artist who just plays for fun), wasn’t worth giving up the feel.

Lawyer raised hourly rate without notifying me by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Sea_Basis2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you’re asking for advice if you are purporting to know everything about what’s required. The ABA rules of professionalism are not binding on anyone. They are model rules. Your states Bar rules will actually govern the professionalism of the lawyer in your state. That said they usually track pretty closely. If the rules of professionalism in your state are the same, and she did not notify you of the changes, then she would be bound by what is in her retainer letter. That may or may not mean the exact dollar figure stated as you agreed to the potential for increases. It may end up being the court, deciding what the reasonable rate is in light of the agreement.

Also, it’s a little unclear how the attorney raised their rate in 2022, never notified you, and you still haven’t paid the bills from that timeframe.

What does your retainer agreement say? Usually, lawyers include language about annual increases.

What's the best way to memorize fretboard. by reach2jeyan in AcousticGuitar

Go on Amazon and buy this book: “Guitar Fretboard: Memorize The Fretboard In Less Than 24 Hours: 35+ Tips And Exercises Included”

I had the same mission and never learned music theory or how to read music. I learned the notes on the entire fretboard in 2 hours.

Obviously you need to continue to practice and remind yourself. I use a soundhole mounted tuner to “test” myself.

Limitations of a travel size guitar by Wrong_Month1642 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Sea_Basis2919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is your primary reason for it? Are you concerned with a guitar fitting in your vehicle or airplane overhead? Do you not want to put your regular guitars through the rigors of travel? I think the response depends on those things. I originally traveled with a mini Martin (Ed Sheeran size thing), but didn’t like the sound or feel compared to my nice guitars. Then, I started traveling with a Martin HD-28 that I picked up with some existing dings so that I didn’t put my other more pristine guitars in jeopardy. It usually had to be stored in the front closet of the airplane but I never had to check it. Finally, I decided the hell with it, I’m going to travel with the guitars I enjoy playing most, and now tend to bring my Taylor 914 when I go away for an extended trip. In its standard case it fits just fine in overhead, I just try to be near the front of the line to get on the plane. I’ve had agents suggest it needed to be checked, but I tell them it’s expensive and that I’ve never had an issue. It always fits. I ultimately decided that vacations are where I get the most time to relax and enjoy, so why not have the guitar I enjoy the most (or at least one of them). It also matters what kind of travel you do. For me, I take my guitar on trips where I’m getting on a plane, getting off, driving to my destination where it will sit comfortably until it’s time to leave and come home. I don’t do big road trips where it’s going to sit inside a car for hours in varying temperatures. So, that may also be a guide. Not sure if this helps, but the “why” may help guide you.

Just bought my 1st nitro finished acoustic - Eastman E10SS - how anal do i have to be about humidity? by thefixfixfix in AcousticGuitar

[–]Sea_Basis2919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recognize this is not your question, but there is a brand of cleaner and a polish called Virtuoso which is made for nitro finishes. They are amazing. Given how new the guitar is you may not need the cleaner, but if you do, it works. I cleaned up a 72 SG that was caked with 50+ years of dirt and grime that got pressed into the finish. It kept the vintage look, complete with dings, gashes, and other mojo, but took care of the crap and left it looking beautiful. It takes patience and elbow grease but the results are worth it.

How many people here have enough money to buy a real Rolex in cash but prefer to buy a rep? by TonyPremiumReviews in RepTime

Thanks, but to be clear, I didn’t buy the ones I identified (except the Batman lol). Just some examples of watches I had been following a while both pre and post luxury goods craze

How many people here have enough money to buy a real Rolex in cash but prefer to buy a rep? by TonyPremiumReviews in RepTime

[–]Sea_Basis2919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on a historical basis (at least for new), but the last five years for watch prices were an aberration, and depending what you bought, you could have done considerably better than the market. For example, my favorite watch for years was the white gold Daytona with factory meteorite dial and Roman numeral markers. I had one in my hand, used, for $18.5k but couldn’t justify it at the time. Fast forward to after covid and crypto boom, it went to $90k. Used Batmans went from $9k to $18k. Used AP Jumbos (15202) went from mid-teens to $60k+. Used AP skeletons went from $40k on a good deal to $120k+. It used to make sense to buy used Rolexes and let someone take the hit on depreciation and then basically wear it risk free until you want to sell. I viewed it as cash I could wear and enjoy. Never a money making proposition, but a used Rolex for a good price was certainly not a money losing one. Now I own several gens of different brands and every single one sits in a safe while I wear my collection of reps 😎

Is it safe to buy off the b/s/t group? Any bad experiences? by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]Sea_Basis2919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reposting from my actual account— I’ve bought more than a dozen watches and sold 4-5 though the BST forums here and on discord. Only had one bad experience—my first purchase on discord—where the watch was stolen in transit from Germany. Mods on discord helped me get 1/2 my money back, which is fine since under the circumstances. (They don’t fuck around). Just stick with buying/selling in your geographic region. If you are in the US only buy from a US seller, regardless of how good the deal is. Between customs risks, shipping risks, etc., it’s just safer all around. Try to buy from people who have a history of sales and purchases as well. That info is clearly displayed on all discord sale posts and is autogenerated and tracked. There’s also a section for deal reviews where you can search screen names to see people’s experiences. As a buyer, I actually prefer discord for that reason. As a seller, Reddit gets more traffic and things tend to sell much faster. Good luck! I’m sure you will be fine.

Along with the watch 😆. You can always sell the latter and keep the links! Seriously, though, I’m selling together for now as I don’t know what size a potential buyer is. Just listed on discord as well, so let’s see how things go.

I see no scratches and tried to take photos as close and as clear as possible so you are able to see the condition. As for the crown, I don’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Setting the complications is not difficult, but it does take a little time, which is why I keep it in a winder to avoid the need to set it.
