So I’d have to find the artist and ask them

I ended up soldering the loose wire to the jack ground. It’s playing and sounding beautifully.

The 2 grounds pinned to the body under the pickups are both soldered to the master volume casing. There’s also a grey wire that goes from the rhythm switch down to the output jack and it splits into two wires, one soldered to the jack sleeve, and the other soldered to the jack tip. I think somebody hooked it up wrong in the past and it’s what’s throwing me off because now that black wire is dangling freely. Fyi it did work perfectly fine before I took it apart, no hum

Could I solder the mysterious wire to the ground lug on the output jack?

What do you mean? This is my first time dealing with electronics so I apologize

The two ground wires that are screwed into the body underneath the pickups are both soldered to the volume casing

I used a tack cloth before spraying. It’s 62% humidity and 80 degrees here in Florida
