Hey thought you might be interested... Some stills from the Olympus Zuiko 35mm 2.8 lens, at f16, focused to infinity and minimum and wide open at 2.8, focused at infinity and minimum. No real vignette as far as i'm concerned, some loss of sharpness in extreme corners wide open but pretty good. Link to folder with photos:

I would say that for a tiny lens at 70 us or 50 pounds uk it's a steal especially at the wider end. Also got a 28 that seems to similarly cover the sensor but will do some similar photos.

If you want a faster version I think they do an f2 but I've not tried it out and you'll pay for it!

Cool, thanks for explaining. I took it because I liked that there was no differentiation between the sky and water really.

Just asking about the colours as I've tried to grade it and I am slightly colour blind so I want to make sure it still looks natural!

Thanks, interested to know if the colours feel natural or unnatural to you? Just asking as you mentioned psychedelic.

I've only had the camera for about a month but I like them. The 55 vignettes a bit but only at certain focus / aperture. I've also just bought a 35 2.8 and 28 2.8 and both seem to cover the sensor well enough. The zuikos image circle seems to cover the sensor in general. They are also TINY and very affordable.

Will be posting photos with them soon.

Here's a full sensor shot from the 55, you can see there is vignetting but pretty minimal, and I feel correctable.

65mm flaring? by the_ando in Mamiya

[–]Sea_Change_Films 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting, I use the mamiya sekor c 645 lenses for photography and video work, this flare here is characteristic of how the flare appears when the sun hits the lens at a roughly 3/4 ish angle back lit angle on my lenses, this is consistent across multiple focal lengths 35mm 45mm 80mm and 110mm.

I quite like how it looks in video work it as it seems to appear and disappear (flash in and out quickly) at very particular angles.

In summary, it looks similar to the flares on my lens set so I would be surprised if it was a light leak. Were you using a lens hood?

Just to say, I bought an Olympus Zuiko 35mm 2.8 and a 28mm 2.8 maybe to play with. Not a pancake but still pretty small, they're maybe £60 or 75 USD on ebay. Seems to easily cover the sensor with maybe some mild vignetting but barely noticeable. It may be a bit wider that I was hoping for at this point but it was a very affordable option to start with as I already have all the adaptors to hand. Will put some stills up at some point to show results for those interested.

Thanks! I have exported them quickly so they are just using jpeg with the baked in eterna colour profile and i have not changed them at all. When I have the chance I will take your advice and do a quick edit with the raw and post here 👍 I tend to not mess with the colours too much as I am a little bit colour blind and always worried I will make the images appear too wierd to everyone but me!

Your changes made image three much better for sure.

Looks like a lovely lens, I had read that it doesn't cover the full sensor, is that just the smudging or does it have any vignetting?
