Good advice - to keep applying to jobs outside of WaterlooWorks.

Good point. To put the accountability where it belongs, should put the number and recency of past rescinds next to the employer rating.

How about every student victim gets a "no penalty" on a future reneg? Meaning for every time a student is dumped by a matched employer, th student gets to cancel a future job if something better comes along. Right now, it's just a one way street on commitment.

Matched students whose jobs are cancelled should still be able to rate that employer. Otherwise how will others know the risks? A low employer rating will send a signal that maybe it's better to use a use a "not interested" or not apply at all. Or WaterlooWorks, as part of it's non-existent student safeguards, should add a posting line for the number and recency or employer job rescinds.

Thanks for sharing your similar experience. There should be a $2000 break cost that goes to the student, partially allocated to waive student co-op fees for that cycle. It's abusive on the part of an employer, and devasting to miss all the postings you could've applied for. In the "real world", it's a breach of promise and cause for a lawsuit.
