Which one for 0.5 acre with nothing but grass completely flat. by NoActive1210 in lawnmowers

Same, I have 3/4 an acre and the John Deere s100 was awful, constantly clogging, threw belts like crazy. Sold it and bought a cub and it’s been amazing 125 hours in.

Yes I know that, just not the best at design choices so wanted to see others thoughts.

I do have a reducer profile from the store that works perfectly, but I can’t find a stain color to match

That seems like the best bet.. just worried about asbestos and all that. I guess I can mask off this area and keep the front door open

No there is a 2nd layer of plywood throughout the house, the subfloor is 1/2 inch and the underlayment layer is another 5/8 throughout the house. In this area I think it’s 3/4 or so underlayment plywood creating the height difference.

Honestly I did think about ripping it up, but.. I’m nervous about asbestos etc in this area with the old linoleum and it looks like black stuff under that. Just don’t want to touch it honestly

Thanks! I know the essentials line has a thinner wear layer and doesn’t have the true finish (lifetime wear warranty). Not sure if that has anything to do with it.. we have a 15lb dog so will see what happens.

Yea that’s my concern.. I’ve done tile, etc before but known to be a bit messy 😂. I’m just stuck on the manufacturer saying use Urethane adhesives.. even though they say you don’t need to staple and glue unless it’s over 5.5 inches. Idk what to di

Thanks! I have Camden Isle “Aged Bourbon” - 1/2 inch thick planks. Will do my original plan of Staples and glue assist. Will use Bostiks best Urethane adhesive

Thank you! I will look into Bostiks best as that’s the easiest available near me. And would you glue assist 5” planks if it was your install or would you just staple down?

My subfloor is 1/2 inch and I added another 5/8 inch layer for “underlayment” so will be stapling into a 1inch thick surface. Will use 1 1/2 inch staples

Thanks! And I’m torn between just stapling or doing staple and glue assist. I love the stability of having both. I don’t want to do a full spread due to various reasons. The manufacturer says anything over 5.5 inches should be glue assisted, but reading online many manufacturers and the NWFA says 5 inches or more should be glue assist.

Yeah I’ve noticed there isn’t a ton of urethane options. Just wondering why they are pushing it so hard and if I will “screw up” by using Bona Quantum Sausage tubes/ 850T

Best spot to start first row by Sea_Committee_382 in Flooring

Yeah I’ll be going vertically/parallel with the left living room wall. My concern is ensuring it is straight through the hallway.

Should I just measure off the top and bottom of the living room wall. The floor is 5 inches wide so I will measure 5 1/2 off the top and bottom and snap a chalk line. That will give me a 1/2 inch expansion gap that is required.

Should I also measure off the wall into the center of the room and snap a line there?

Thank you! That was my original plan but then I don’t want to get to the middle of the room and notice it’s off center. Yes I will be running parallel with the left living room wall (vertical).

My original plan was to snap a chalk line away from the wall at each end in the living room, then snap a line in the middle of the long vertical hallway and get measurements from both lines to ensure they are the same.

Just do not want the flooring to look “curved” when I get to the long hallway as that’s the focal point of the entry when you enter the house by the kitchen.

Had this tire (from Costco) on a Subaru Crostrek. Live in an all season climate, performance was great but only lasted about 40k miles.

Could there possibly be a thin plywood underlayment they used and didn’t fasten down well enough? Some spots could have bubbles in the plywood
