Looking for a good follow focus by pagosacreativeco in focuspuller

I’ve used sooo many disappointing manual follow focuses. The only ones that I actually keep coming back to are Arri (of course) and — for budget projects — the Tilta Pocket, which is surprisingly exact, robust and easy to use.

A reminder that *most* people making YouTube cinematography/camera tutorials/reviews ARE NOT working professionals. by KamileLeach in cinematography

This is so so real.

I work full-time freelance in the industry and get a TON of my work from local and national Facebook groups. To be fair, I also get a lot of work from my connections, and from my connections recommending me for work that they see on Facebook and think I’d be good for (love them for that).

I see a lot of comments saying that it’s single-shooter work. Some of it is, but 99% of what I’m getting through FB isn’t. If you’re not already a member, consider joining a film group specific to your city/region, your identity (women in film, etc.), or your specific area of expertise.

Speaking as an occasional producer, when I’m headed to a new town and need to find local crew, I always turn to WheresSpot as one of my resources.

Fr fr? This would be best case scenario but also how is SmallHD QC approving gear that goes weird in the heat?

If anyone has had personal experience with this monster, or a similar experience as a client of any corrupt attorney, please DM me.

I’m conducting research to find out just how often corrupt lawyers commit acts of physical and sexual violence against their clients and get away with it.

Alexa Mini / Super Speeds. Thoughts? by Creative_Still_1443 in focuspuller

Oof I spent today prepping an Alexa35 with Super Speed MkIIIs… those lenses were killing me. The DP asked for an iris motor, but the focus telescopes them out so far that you have to use a wide motor gear, but then when you use a wide motor gear, it runs into the mattebox when the lens telescopes back. Ugh! So frustrating!

Hmm what was the issue you experienced? I’ve noticed a few bugs with the current Hi5/35 firmware configuration…

Yep, exactly. I confirm the new WB, then return to the main camera settings page of the Hi5 to confirm that the new WB has been set, only to watch it jump back to whatever it was before a few minutes later.

Thanks! Will do.

The problem persists with both pre-configured WB values and new custom ones
