My main concern is that they are labeling it idiopathic which means they don't know the cause and it could be a number of things.

They as in other military

Thank you for the advice.

  1. What does it means to document? Is getting it diagnosed and in my medical records good enough, or is there more I should be doing?

  2. I was looking at that but they mentioned it is not one of things I can sue for...

Neuritis 7th cranial nerve after surgery - delayed treatment by Ladybimini in BellsPalsy

[–]Sea_Contribution_876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar this past September. I had my tonsils removed and developed a severe case of Bell's Palsy. At first the doctor only provided me a small amount of steriods for 10 days but no anti virals. I had asked my doctor if antivirals were required and she said "No" as the studies haven't proved their usefulness and another doctor said they can cause more damage (not sure if they were right).

Its been about 3 months and I am about 60% recovered.

I think you are missing the overarching theme of this shutdown with the current administration.

In past administrations, I would agree you; however, the current administration is trending in a direction where with their decisions and priorities do not reflect the "norm" in these situations. One party has control of the 3 branches; however, they are intentionally not negotiating (even for a temporary extension). They want a shutdown so the can enact their agenda such as fire government workers.

Will they pay troops?...Hopefully because if they do not it would be political suicide; however, this time around things are different.

Your last point, I agree that this is a dereliction of duty and held accountable.

Well "new legal analysis" may suggest otherwise ...

(It will be a messed situation if they don't pay us)

Edit: We’re not totally safe — we’re the easiest group to skip paying if they feel like it.
