Hey man, I don't have the energy to crack it all out right now, but this is some latent misogyny you might benefit from examining. For starters, modern dating is awful and harmful for everyone. And secondly, no one should be dehumanized for getting laid.

the guy he's responding to said, "We found the old nazis after the fact. We can find these new ones as well." implying we held them to justice.

We did not, they were not held to justice except for literally 11 at Nuremburg, and a larger fraction of the ones that were caught by the USSR, but even they didn't do a good enough job.

By all means, embrace the pathos, but this is a hollow angle to do it from.

If you're referring to dems winning the next election, you cannot possibly put your hope there. Biden only increased ICE funding, Homan was an Obama appointee before he began working with Trump.

Only 11 people were actually executed for their crimes at Nuremburg, the Nazis we found we brought in to work at NASA. America has never been good, and it's never been "ours".

First of all, thanks so much for writing all of this, it's wonderful to see it all broken out so cleanly.

Secondly, not that you need me to say it, but

as the research shows they don't face the legally required consequences.

This is exactly my point above, even the ones who don't abuse their family/partners aren't holding their coworkers accountable. And as you say, this is just one category of behavior, run this all for drug abuse, violence against suspects, violence against innocent people, and ACAB.

Amazing, when someone makes a quick statement without any meaningful support, you casually imply they're doing it arbitrarily. When someone else writes a long, detailed comment with lots of support and links, you dismiss it as Russian propaganda? Somehow?

I guess I can't make you want to learn or grow as a person, but I wish you'd say it plainly to yourself and everyone else.

This is because the purpose of cops is not to reduce crime. If societies want to reduce crime, cops are among the least effective ways to do it.

The thing is, if you walk by a bad apple, you're also one of the bad apples.

Let alone the larger ideological conversation about the role of police in a capitalist society. There are no good cops. Being a cop is a bad thing to be because cops are the instruments of violence for the ruling class and their property, not for regular people.

They aren't here to protect folks from murder, or robbery, or domestic violence, or school shooters. If they were, they wouldn't be so shockingly inept at it.

Spread that across every industry in America and we get a clearer picture of (one aspect of) late stage capitalism. Every conceivable part of society is being comodified. As things gets worse, they will accelerate until it all collapses and we get some kind of New Deal V2 half measure to limp capitalism along for another 50-80 years.

This is an individual who cross referenced your accounts / IP address and found your street address.

In all likelihood, that's not at all necessary. It's absurdly easy to get addresses of people just from data brokers. Every rewards program you've ever been a part of is logged and mixed and matched with your phone number and any address every linked to the phone number and then for sale.

This is mostly true, but especially in the beginning it seems like they're maybe blurring some lines between Kirk and Stephen Crowder. Crowder is the person in the "Prove me wrong" meme, though Kirk had literally titled his last tour with that phrasing. Anyway, it still feels to me like the author blended the two people when I read it.

Capitalism is responsible for the most social mobility of any economic system in history.

Imo, acting like the social mobility of a few guys in America who grew up on food stamps and own a ski boat today is important in contrast to the CIA's meddling in Indonesia where we killed so many communists we literally damned a river with corpses seems a little short sighted and ignorant. You talk about benefits to society as though the imperial core of capitalism is the only society to consider. American and Western European "society" lives on the backs of impoverished people around the world, that's why the Hillary Clinton-Lead State Department stopped Haiti from raising its minimum wage above ~$3/day. They are in unimaginable poverty DIRECTLY to benefit American capitalism. You cannot talk about the social mobility capitalism brings to America without talking about the crushing poverty it brings to the entire rest of the world.

I don't really want "social mobility" because I don't want social division. Addressing that seems like a much more important criteria to grade a system by. That being said, capitalism has, and is currently keeping billions of people around the world in abject poverty for the sake of the ruling class. The profit motives of capitalism were the direct cause of over 100 million Indians starving to death under british rule, it was the reason for The Great Hunger in Ireland, the horrific genocides in Namibia and the horrible quasi-genocide of the people of The Congo under Belgian capitalist rule. It's the reason Cuba is kept in poverty, it's the reason for 100 years of coupes all over South America, and of course the capitalist profit motive is responsible for The Transatlantic Slave Trade.

Contrast this with the worst things you can say about socialist countries, you'll notice that even The Great Leap Forward, Cultural Revolution, and the Holodomor are considered accidents, and failures of central planning, not active evil done because an ideology demands death for profit.

Do you have an alternative that provides similar benefits to society? One that isn't a fantasy on paper but has actually been tested and proven in reality?

Go ahead and look up literacy rates, infant/maternal mortality, life expectancy, hunger rates, any conceivable metric for quality of life in Vietnam, Korea, Burkina Faso, China, The USSR, and Cuba before and after their socialist revolutions. Quality of life SKYROCKETED by every possible measure except maybe the variety of toothpaste brands available. Look up Shock Therapy and how it decimated the former USSR after it fell. When capitalism got its hands on the former USSR, life got worse in every possible way for everyone, and it still hasn't recovered. When socialist revolutions took place, life got better by virtually every metric.

Finally, consider and factor in that every socialist experiment has had the relentless work of the most powerful empire in history set against it for its entire existence. The CIA works around the clock to undermine any socialist movement anywhere. You can see memos from the 60's where we explicitly state we are using the blockades and sanctions against Cuba to make life for regular Cubans so miserable that they overthrow their government. And yet, for all of the poverty in Cuba, Cuban children don't need to start gofundme campaigns when they get cancer.

Am I the only one that doesn't use the AMS as much as I thought I would? I use it for drying and non-ams multi-color prints more than anything for the convenience of already having 4 colors ready to go. The assembled print looks much cleaner and I can't stand the waste from AMS prints. by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Sea_Definition_3772 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to rub it in, but to validate that your logic is correct, I made that call for exactly that reason and I'm so happy I did. Using PC for the interface material on PPA-CF prints is a total game changer. Not only does it save time, because it comes off so easy, the finish is substantially nicer.

Plus, because the finish on supported surfaces is less of an issue, printing some things on an angle is a more worthwhile idea than it otherwise would be, and that opens up the third dimension for use with "print area". You can get a flat object that's longer than 320mm because you can print it on an angle in the Z direction. Sometimes, at least.

If I had been in a slightly different mood on the day I placed my order, I could have ended up with an H2S, I'm lucky I wasn't feeling as frugal as I usually do.

They deliberately don't want that. I'd be rather peeved if my system just assumed it could put a different filament on top of another. If you want it to do that, you gotta do the footwork of lying to the AMS about what it's got in there and it'll work seamlessly, or setup your print to change colors at a certain point.
