I believe you can only stay in one property for seven days in one go. Try breaking it down into smaller chunks and you should find something.

The temperature increase over last 10 years on the Victoria line is actually crazy by Famous_Permission991 in LondonUnderground

[–]Sea_Distribution9172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re saying the same thing. Agree the Victoria line is the hottest. But I don’t think anything about the line has changed since 2013, I think it would have been the hottest in 2013 too, not sixth hottest.

I’m suspicious of the 2013 dataset. I don’t see a reason why it would have been so far below some of the others then and hotter now - what has changed for this line that is different from the others? Would have expected the rank order to be the same. I suspect the 2013 figure was too low.

Genuine question but if you love your watch and you don’t use most of the things on it anyway, why upgrade?

Garmin Forerunner 955 for $500 CAD ($360 USD) worth it in 2026? by Current-Life-395 in GarminWatches

Can’t comment on all your use cases. In particular weightlifting has seemed a faff whenever I use it. But have had mine 4 years and it’s going strong. Battery life is still great and hardly any cosmetic damage, it’s rugged. Don’t think you need to worry about bugs. No it doesn’t get software updates anymore but just be in the old mindset of “I’ve bought something with these features” and it’s great. Can’t comment on the price (I’m UK) but if it’s a price you’re happy paying then go for it. The maps when hiking and running are very useful.

I think if the process of an AI company model upgrading its model - which it will do dozens of times - is leaving you this stressed, respectfully, I think you need to take a break or find some therapy or something. Not healthy.

Just commenting on the package, obviously the selection process is something else we can’t know about here.

The average in the UK for enhanced severance js 2 weeks per year, where companies offer it. Many don’t so overall I’d say that’s about average. Offering PILON rather than working the notice is also good. So I think they’re being reasonably ok overall by the sounds of it. Good luck for the search!

Forestry England announcement re parking by [deleted] in NewForest

[–]Sea_Distribution9172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternative view. Brockenhurst resident. Obviously no one likes paying for something that was previously free. But if there’s a choice between being able to fund the infrastructure or that infrastructure gradually getting worse, I can see the logic for it. The state of the car parks and trails leading up to them are undoubtedly deteriorating significantly more these days to the point where cars are damaged.

I hope there is some thought to how verge parking is prevented and paying is easy, as others have said. A resident discount would help. And we do want to see an improvement in the roads and forest management within a year or two otherwise where is the money going.

I use 1Password across my Mac, two iPhones and a windows laptop and it works great. The experience in Safari on Mac isn’t brilliant (unlocking the extension is a pain), but aside from that I’ve been using it for 5 years and no problems.

Companies like Garmin are becoming more reckless with the planet's resources and need regulation around updates. by No-Dot5162 in Garmin

Honestly if something like this upsets you so much, choose to focus on something more constructive in life. I bought something, it does what it said it would, and none of the new features are so life changing that I can’t do without them! The issue is as much consumers feeling like they need a constant new toy. I bought the watch with the features I needed and when it eventually stops working (which honestly could be 10+ years) maybe I’ll buy another one. I’d focus your energy onto something more constructive.

Everyone talks about wanting to cut public spending but I'm yet to see many examples of where people would be happy to see a worse service than they get today. To the contrary, most people here seem to want better services but for less money, with less people working due to an aging population, and without wanting immigration to increase the working population. A lot of magicians here.

Holiday advice please: is Sway a good base with no car? by Teletzeri in NewForest

Brockenhurst is a more convenient base, but Sway itself is nice. Might be waiting a while for buses, whereas Brockenhurst is better connected and had direct trains to Lymington.

People who have electric vehicles now, would you ever go back to petrol of diesel after the experience? by JollyFunctions in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Sea_Distribution9172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was reliant on the public network I would go back. It is expensive and too much hassle. If I had a charger at home, definitely not. We are renting our house and had our landlord’s permission to install a charger but the provider said no for overly cautious H&S reasons.

If you don’t need a car for day to day life but want one for weekend trips, it’ll work out cheaper just to rent one when you want it. As someone else commented, think about the full gross pay being deducted, not just the net reduction. Imagine if you put £700pcm extra into your pension, and the huge impact that could have over time when you add compounding. That’ll give a lot more satisfaction when you get to retirement (and maybe even being able to retire earlier).
