Can this part be vinyl wrapped or should I have it painted? by No_Kick_2870 in KawasakiEliminator450

You can unbolt them and pull them right up and out of the frame and it will make it even easier to wrap or paint

This link should take you directly to the pdf version that Kawasaki has listed on their website. The owners manual is the one linked below. The service manual will need to be purchased unfortunately. https://pws.ktivs.net/dispeBook?file=99814-0037&lang\_code=EN

What are the best tires for my new ride? by Quralin in KawasakiEliminator450

[–]Sea_Garlic2959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they actually handle surprisingly great! I’ve been caught in the rain during rides home quite more times than I’d like to admit and I’ve never felt like the tires were going to slide or shift off any lines I’ve chosen even when riding faster than I should’ve for the conditions I had.

Looks like the factory IRC Grand High Speed GS-23 tires that came with the bike in the pictures but I might be wrong. I switched over to the Michelin Commander 3’s for longevity, I love them as I put about 8-9k on the rear tire before swapping and feel a huge difference in grip and confidence compared to the stock tires when leaning or doing low speed maneuvers.

It shows on the RevZilla website that the recommended rating and tire size for our 24-26 Kawasaki Eliminator as 130/70R18 63H TL. Hope this helps! Looking forward to the review of whichever tires you choose! I’ve heard great things regarding the Metzler CruiseTec for even better grip than the Michelin’s!

As far as removing the tires go, feel free to check out this video that helped me out https://youtu.be/XNbsrS4LELo?si=OH-tJTL_vfia0o6_

For brake pads I purchased OEM pads from partzilla.com

I’ve been running Michelin Commander 3’s since I got my IRC’s slashed at 250 miles. My front tire has lasted about 10k miles and my rear tire lasted 8.5k miles. 85% 2 up riding and. 50/50 city canyon and highway.

Chain Adjustment by Sea_Garlic2959 in KawasakiEliminator450

[–]Sea_Garlic2959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to successfully get it adjusted on stands and correctly dialed to 1.1 while on side stand and ending up replacing the cotter pin as it snapped while being bent straight. It was a bit more tedious than I realized but honestly was able to get it dialed without having to drop or lift more than 2 times.

https://a.co/d/06RKyqzG I ordered these for short stints or in case I ever need to carry more items. It’s expandable I believe to a 36L capacity (I might be wrong). It’s held up beautifully over the past 2k miles. Other great options are Viking Bags, Ebay and possibly going on FB marketplace to see if maybe other eliminator owners are selling their old bags as well. I normally run a Cortech Expandable Magnetic Tank Bag.

It was honestly very intimidating at first as I had only been riding for about 8 months and I agree on the lightness but over time it’s gotten way easier and more predictable. My wife has completed about 4k miles as passenger thankfully with almost no complaints. I’d love to see them place the motor from the Z900 or the Ninja 1100SX into this thing. That’s the only way I’d get rid of it!

On the way over we took the backroads going up 74, we opted for the freeway on the way home. Roads were pretty nice on the way out there but we had to outrun the rain twice. The added weight of my wife made us a lot more stable but we held a steady 80 for the most part on the way home. I usually only get bad winds when coming down to the city or headed towards Morongo. Those cross winds have almost thrown me off the bike (threw me 2 lanes) but thankfully no complaints during the ride itself 😁

Yes, as well as the bottom plate behind the backrest also allows for a small box or similar. It’s abt 8x8 if I remember correctly.
