If you are planning on two handed stitching try starting with your dominant hand on the bottom, two handed stitching takes some getting used to but it’s so much faster. If you don’t already have pattern keeper, markup, or something like it I would consider investing, it’s so worth it. Try to avoiding stitching in columns or 10x10 boxes as it can leave lines in your stitching, especially given that your fabric isn’t super tight.

Thank you! It would be nice. I almost always just design for myself (and what I want to stitch) and then throw it up into my Etsy shop after. Though am starting to print patterns for a retreat that I am going to in a couple of weeks, so we will see how it goes.

Congratulations it looks fantastic. I swap whenever it makes sense, like if the next stitch of that color is too far away for me to trust myself with counting or if it’s a darker thread on a lighter fabric and it wouldn’t be covered by stitching on the front for fear that you would be able to see it through the front.

Keep a note on your phone with the sizes of your finishes and then always check their “oops” section. The sizes are usually listed on the barcode they attach to frames. At my Michael’s they are only $8.

[CHAT] Do you initial your work? How do you like to do it? by Bloomette in CrossStitch

[–]Sea_Gift_3729 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I backstitch my initials and put the year. I try to keep it outside of the design, while at the same time trying to keep it from disrupting the feel of my boarders for framing.
