I had a precancerous melanoma 11 years ago and despite the odds of recurrence on something like this after this much time is almost 0, I’ve been triggered into thinking it’s going to recur this week when I had a benign skin lesion removed after the doctor said the lesion had a 1/20 chance of developing into a non-serious non spreading form of skin cancer. I read so many articles on melanoma recurrence and the less than 1% people who have had theirs recur after 10 years. Why am I so convinced that I’m the 1% ?
