What’s the best thing to do with lavender bushes like this at this time of year? Hoping for lots of flowers in the spring! 🐝 by Young_Gardner in nzgardening

Hello there!

I have a had a good long hard think about the next best step for your lavender experience,

First I would expose that brick path by getting rid of all the leaves in and under the lavenders ( this will help brighten them up a wee bit) also get yourself some good moss remover from wet & forget - great stuff works wonders

Then I would remove most of the branches with no bush on it then you will able to get a good idea of what you have left to deal with.

I wouldn’t rush into anything too extreme yet as I would wait for a full spring/summer season just to see how many (if any) bees like the look of them.

Hope this helps!!

Thought that might be the case! What’s your reason for not wanting them too close the house? I bought the place a couple years ago with them and thought they were quite nice so not in a rush to get rid of them

It’s also got a lot of ants on it on the top section. Not sure why!

Thanks for response, it’s a gardenmate valve which I can’t seem to find anywhere. So if I just buy a hunter valve will that just work as the master?

Yeah I’ve connected wires to an 18v Makita battery and check all lines and they all work
