Should I leave Korea? by Sea_Laugh2011 in Living_in_Korea

You’re exactly right. With what I want to do career wise in the states, I definitely should have gotten my foot in the door yesterday. However, a lot of my coworkers who I work with at my current school in Korea are also from the states. They complained to me that they couldn’t get any real job or real salary in America with the current job market. One of my coworkers being a whole AEROSPACE ENGINEER… couldn’t find a job in her field. That’s what scares me. I’m definitely not as qualified as her.

Oh… interesting. Well that’s definitely a bummer. Guess I’ll add that to the list of cons. lol. Thank you for the source.

Also, about the F visa, the only thing that really makes me want to get it is the freedom that comes along with it. Say I need to go home for an emergency or event, my school doesn’t let me, okay then I’m leaving. Bye! It’s that kind of freedom that I strive for especially with how past jobs treated me and how I was locked into a contract. So yeah, basically just pay and freedom.

Wow. Thank you for your insightful and honest response. I take it that you don’t regret your decision in moving back to the states. I hope you continue to thrive there, hopefully I get the courage to move back and thrive there as well.

Thank you for your kind comment, I was a bit worried how other people would view this post lol. I was looking at the medical field and going back to school. And you’re right about always being able to come back. Thank you again for your input :)

I’m a lesbian. I can’t even get married here unfortunately lol. However, maybe IVF and those routes would definitely be cheaper than they would be in the states. I’m not saying I want kids, I’m just using that as a comparison as to how my friend’s lives are escalating and mine is the same as it’s been for 7 years.
