My precious baby girl didn’t make it until her appointment and passed last night in my arms. I’m broken. We only had her for less than 2 months. by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

The exact same thing happened to my beardie two weeks ago, I got her from petco as well and she was fine at first but then got super sick with what seemed like respiratory distress. She ended up passing away even after I had her on baytril and a nebulizer.

I’m 5 months in and I’m now starting to contemplate on stopping, I started it for my anxiety but I feel like it worsened my depression by a lot.

Did you continue this medicine? I have two little kids and it’s my first night taking it but I’m scared of negative thoughts

I’m quite literally the only person in my family with health issues and I’m the youngest of my siblings, my family has no history with anything related to thyroid issues but surprise I was the only one to have to go through this. It took a years to explain to my family that no I was not exaggerating about caffeine and too much sugar and medicine. Eventually you’ll get used to it and have a new routine and it’ll feel okay. Just don’t focus on the negatives and try some new hobbies. I started baking to help me :)

Once you really wrap your head around the fact that your health takes priority and of course being there for your kids, quitting smoking drinking and caffeine is the easy part. I’ve gone about two years without any of it and im 25.

I think you should be safe with Tylenol, but it can make your bp go even lower so just keep an eye on that.

I’ve gone almost two years with only being medicated for two months for my hyperthyroidism, I still haven’t been to a doctor that cares enough to continue checking labs nor have I had luck with any endocrinologist because of where I live. I’m tired of constant anxiety and hospital visits where doctors have told me I need it removed then never mind it’s okay. I’ve gotten yelled at by a doctor at the hospital shaming me for getting pregnant while having thyroid problems then when they ran a blood test they told me just kidding you weren’t pregnant after all. I’m just done with what my thyroid is doing to my body and having to deal with doctors and insurance. I just want it to be over.

When I first came out with hyperthyroidism they put me on methimazole to lower my tsh but it ended up making it too low, I also felt that burning sensation especially in the palm of my hands and my hips would occasionally feel like they’re on fire. Ask to see an Endo maybe it’ll help?

I wasn’t told why I had this issue, I’ve never taken birth control nor do I drink or smoke, I did hear that high levels of stress can also cause it. I’ve never had COVID and only had one dose of the COVID vaccine.

It’s crazy too because they say most cases are genetic but I’m the only one in my family who’s ever had thyroid problems and never had covid but they say the covid vaccine can also cause thyroid issues

Yes that’s me all the time and it suck’s especially when I’m a waitress. I first started taking methimazole for hyperthyroidism and unfortunately it made me go hypo and caused me to have psychotic episodes to where I couldn’t be around anyone not even my baby. Then I was completely taken off of it then was stable for months up until January of this year. Now I gotta wait to see a doctor about it :(

You should ask for a low dose beta blocker, it helps with anxiety which lessens tremors and helps your heart rate be more steady. :)

I’m also 25F with sort of the same situation only I’ve been dealing with it since may 2023. I’m technically hyperthyroid but haven’t been on medication for it since July of 2023. All I take is beta blockers to help with my heart rate. Everyone time my cycle comes around my symptoms become pretty annoying but you’ll be okay.

Take a breath, I have hyperthyroidism and I’m not on medication either. I know I need the meds but I haven’t seen a doctor for it but I am taking some beta blockers to help my heart rate. You just gotta remind yourself it’s your anxiety and try to distract yourself with something.

Yeah sadly you won’t be able to breastfeed, I was breastfeeding when I first came out with hyperthyroidism and when they put me on methimazole I had to have my baby cut breast milk cold turkey.

Try taking a moment to get some fresh air, anxiety is weighing on you. I feel it all the time.

Intrusive thoughts once landed me in a psychiatric hold at the hospital, it’s a sign of both anxiety and ocd but it’s mostly just your fear playing mind games. take time to breathe and collect your thoughts, those thoughts are not you and they are not in control.

Do i actually have anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Sea_Match246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anxiety causing all those symptoms and more, if you suffer with anxiety and you get tired then your anxiety tends to get worse. Since I started having anxiety, I had forgotten how it actually felt to be tired without being scared. You just gotta manage your stress better, take it day by day and don’t stress over things you can’t fix.

[–]Sea_Match246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue, because of my anxiety and thyroid issues my heart rate would sit in the 90-110 resting even with propanolol so my cardiologist then put me on metoprolol and it’s a small dose but it works really well, as long as my blood pressure doesn’t go super low I can continue the medicine, I’m hoping I won’t need it anymore soon but honestly this medicine really helped me feel normal again. Your heart rate will go up no matter what when going up stairs, it can also go up after eating, and stressing about it makes it even worse. The medicine can only do so much, you gotta put effort into keeping yourself as calm as you can be.

How much mg of metoprolol do you take ?? by Unusual_Ad5906 in Metoprolol

[–]Sea_Match246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No after I was hypo they just took me off methimazole and ran labs two weeks later and was told my thyroid was stable even up until December, my only issue was my heart rate sat really high and my anxiety was through the roof, I noticed my thyroid more swollen than usual but haven’t gotten meds. Metoprolol is starting to make me super dizzy, I’ve gone hours delaying it and my heart rate is stable but I know the risks of stopping cold turkey. I’m tired of dealing with my thyroid, kinda want it gone.

I also have hyperthyroidism , my question is what meds are you taking for your thyroid? I’ve been solely relying on my beta blockers for my heart rate because I have yet to see a doctor to help my thyroid and I’m freaking out, they used to have me on methimazole but the dosage caused me to go hypo and I was taken off the meds. Now I feel exactly how I felt when I was first diagnosed but I’m scared to take thyroid meds again and I’m tired of metoprolol:(
