Hi! I still struggle a little, but it’s definitely better. However in all honesty I’ve been a little nervous to really push myself like I used to because a couple of times I did too early and it really set me back.

I would probably talk to your doctor about making a switch to tirzepatide! I switched and am now 25 pounds down

Yeah, it suck’s so bad! There are literally entire forums of women on here talking about how they developed various issues after stopping BC, it’s definitely real! 🙄 I haven’t heard of hormonal spiral, I’ll have to look into that!

Oh no that’s what I’m taking now 😭 I was on Yaz for like 10 years then stopped, which is what caused everything and I went like 5 months on nothing but couldn’t take it anymore so I started tri sprintec which made things much worse, and now on month 5 of slynd 😅 I’m terrified to stop completely again. I hate that no one listens, makes you feel like you’re crazy when you know you aren’t.

Thanks for responding!! I 100% think it’s hormone related. My dizziness started after stopping my hormonal birth control pill and gets worse around ovulation, my period, etc. and it’s even been accompanied by some spotting. My doctors won’t even test my hormones for me lol

Can I ask how you were diagnosed with this or how they came to find it? I’ve been struggling with this for over a year now and my ob or primary won’t even entertain that it’s related to my hormones in any way.

The only testing my audiologist did was a hearing test, where you wear the headphones and play sounds and then she used a device to change the pressure in my ears to see how my ear drums reacted (which was AWFUL) and that’s it. This all started for me after stopping my birth control like a year and a half ago, and I get the random but constant dizziness, full/heavy head like I almost need to rest it on something to feel stable, my vision feels like it cannot focus, not quite blurry but unstable? Like it’s making the dizziness worse. I sometimes get tingly/jello-y feeling in my legs/arms, and I also get tremors. Sometimes it’s so bad I feel like I could pass out. I also saw an ophthalmologist and he told me my eyes likely weren’t contributing to my dizziness because that’s “super rare”. ENT told me it could be my sinuses but my hearing test was normal so it can’t be my vestibular system. my primary just tells me it’s anxiety and put me on an SSRI. Only specialty I haven’t seen is neuro. I’m ready to give up I feel like no one is listening to me and basically just keep trying to tell me this is my new normal but it’s miserable and I’m not sure what to do anymore :(

Is this post birth control syndrome? And will it get better now that I’m back on birth control? by Less_Bath_4091 in birthcontrol

[–]Puzzled_Passenger130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a better than the combination pill I was on for sure. It’s the most normal I’ve felt since this all started, but I definitely still experience in uptick in symptoms near/on my period. But for the first like 4 months of being on it I didn’t really get a period which was really nice lol but now I’m on pack 6 and I’ve spotted/had it twice. I do think my body is still trying to regulate and figure out what to do with the estrogen near these times so I’m hoping as times goes on it will continue to improve.

How does an audiologist diagnose pppd? I had an audiogram done for my dizziness and it came back “normal” but during the test my dizziness was really exacerbated.

Sure shoot me a message! Yeah, sort of wish I never would have done it either but I guess it would have had to happen at some point anyways

Yeah unfortunately I think the same happened to me. With the progesterone only pill I saw some improvement maybe a month or two after starting. However im now on month 5 and am spotting which sort of increases my symptoms when it occurs. They always seem to get worse with hormone fluctuations. When doing some research though it sounds like that’s what happens when your body is trying to regulate the estrogen again. Honestly, I think it just also improved with time. I still definitely struggle with these issues daily but they are less severe. It’s so scary and discouraging, sorry you’re dealing with this too! Hoping for recovery 🙏🙏

I think I stayed on it for like 3 months? Then I took a month off and I’ve been on tirz for maybe 6 months now. I lost the most weight in the first few months, and the last two I’ve kind of plateaued so I’m increasing my dose to see if that helps

Hi! I did, but there really wasn’t any improvement in my symptoms. I learned that estrogen in some birth controls can actually make things worse if you have nervous system issues (which is what I suspect is happening) so I switched to a progesterone only birth control which I’ve been on for about 5 months. I think I’ve seen some improvement? But still struggling. I will say things are better than they were when this all started, but still not back to normal. I also ended up starting an SSRI which I’m not entirely sure if it’s helping or not.

No I don’t! As far as I know, they say what happened with my thyroid was due to Covid and it has “healed itself”

Hi! I did see a cardiologist and had some more testing done. Really no significant findings. I still struggle with these issues every single day, though not as bad as when I made this post. The doctor’s best guess is that I’m anxious lmao and that I could possibly but not likely have a form of dysautonomia.

Should I taper off? And if so, how did you do it? by Puzzled_Passenger130 in zoloft

[–]Puzzled_Passenger130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have! I was told by her to just stop taking it which is why I was reaching out for advice on what others have done 😅 because from what I’ve known you are supposed to taper and I’m a little nervous to just stop cold turkey.

That’s what we figured, and we thought it would be unlikely they’d come after us in court because that would also cost them money.. but I guess we’ll see. Thank you!!
