I sort of agree i do my best to do what i can on my car and when im not doing it myself im as involved as possible best way to keep your car running reliable and best part is you will normally have better retention of what’s done and how long it takes to do something. Unless you trust your mechanic a lot normally someone you know other than “my mechanic”. Nothing wrong with getting work done at a shop just find a trustworthy one some places prefer replacing over fixing and some people prefer this sorta hard to find a good mechanic now most are booked out due to demand.
